This hotel is absolutley amazing, it is very clean, rooms are large and spacious, beach is stunning. My husband and i visited the Marco Island Hilton as part of out honeymoon and received a bottle of champaigne in the room, We would also like to recommend the 'romantic meal for 2' which is a four course meal delivered to the room, it is excellent value at $75 for 2 people. This hotel is definatley worth a visit.

Just returned from the Hilton at Marco Island (July 7th - July 15th. The Hilton was fabulous, Marco Island - not so much.
We had a Junior Suite ( 2 double beds, sleeper sofa ) on the 8th floor on the pool side of the hotel overlooking the Gulf. All balconies are cut in, so you have an unobstructed view of the Gulf not matter where your room is.

Staff was great, service was impeccable and Catherine, the Concierge never tired of me :)

The pool is lovely with a bar (very high priced, but they usually are at resorts) and it's just steps down to the beach. The beach is very shelly, depending on your sensitivity you may want to wear swim shoes. The resort fee is $9.00 a day (optional) and with that you recieve: free local calls, a USA today every morning, valet service and 2 beach lounge chairs. The umbrellas are an extra $12.00 per day. I know most beach resorts in Florida charge for beach chairs, umbrellas, cabanas, etc., so this charge didn't particularly bug us, however, I so wish that the resorts would allow at least one chair per person staying in your room in this rate. We have an 11 year old daughter and it was a constant (it's my turn to have a chair game) every day.

They have 3 eateries at the hotel. The poolside grill and bar. Ok for lunch, and for 2 Strawberry daquiries and 1 virgin the bill was $19.50.

The Paradise Cafe also offers outside screened in dining, which is very nice. However, the menu is limited and the seafood buffet offered on Friday nights is $24.95 per person and it's a cold buffet. Cold stone crabs, shrimp, raw oysters and a salad bar. Breakfast prices were $7.95 for one belgian waffle, not including coffee or dessert.

Sandcastles is the dressier restaurant on the property and adjoins the lounge. I had an 8 oz filet, a tablespoon of mashed potatoes with a stick of Rosemary in them and 2 asparagus spears. Dinner salads do not come with the meal. Price - $36.95 not including my cocktail. We were informed that Market Price on the Lobster tail was $64.00. The "Market price" seems to vary quite a bit from restuarant to restaurant on Marco. we were quoted prices from $30.00 to $65.00 at various eateries. Very limited fare for children. In fact, almost all of Marco's restaurants either do not have a childrens menu, or a very, very limited one.

The only improvement I could make to the Hilton would be with their restaurants.

Did find a jewel of an Italian Restaurant though, named Arturo's. Fabulous italian food. We went back 3 times. Service is exceptional, servers are very personable and food is out of this world. The escargot is without fault and the price is - get this - only $7.95. They always throw in an extra escargot or two. Price are very reasonable and they also offer outside dining. It's not on the water, it is in a little strip mall off Hernando on the way to Tigertail Beach, but it quickly became a favorite of ours. Owned by a New York transplanted family and it's been open for 10 years. If you go to Marco Island, do yourself a favor and eat at Arturo's.

Tide Beachfront bar and restaurant: Got there at 5 in the afternoon, only one other table occupied at the time and after sitting there for more than 20 minutes with no one even taking a drink order we left.

Same happend with Capt Briens. Ignored by the Hostess at the door, when we finally were led to a table, 1/2 hour went by without anyone coming to our table.

The Hilton is beautiful inside and out and we were very pleased with the Hotel itself.

I have nothing bad to say about the Hotel, just the people. Everyone at this hotel were very rude. Employees and guests. We loved the room and the beach, but the service was horrible. We were originally going to stay three days, but ended up checking out the next day. The staff at this resort were really horrible, the waitress totally embaressed us. The manager was really nice and took care of the problem, but needless to say this experience ruined our vacation.

I really would have loved to stay the rest of the week, but didn't feel we were being treated fairly, especially for the amount of money we were paying.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, unless you don't mind being treated like crap.

Just returned from my stay at the Hilton (6-24 thru 7-1) on Marco Island and let me say, it was a wonderful experience. My wife and I have 2 small girls (3 yr old and 7 mth old) so we wanted to make sure our family vacation was one to remember. I have to admit I was kind of concerned after reading some of the reviews but once we arrived, that notion quickly went out the door. The hotel was in great shape and in an excellent location. The ocean was nice and warm with a kind of lake like quality that made it perfect for the kids. The "shelly beach" that most of the reviews complained about was not a problem at all. In fact, my 3 year old girl had no problem getting around on the beach...barefeet and all. She also enjoyed picking up the many different colored shells for her collection. The standard room was nicely sized compared to other rooms we have stayed in with all the amenities we could ask for. The service on these rooms was great as well. We never had to ask for anything. The hotel boasts of a couple of different restaurants on site for a variety of food. My families favorite was the beachside grill. It was really nice to sit by the pool and beach and munch on some food after a nice long day in the water. Wnen we return to the Marco Island area, no doubt on where we are going to stay...The Hilton!!

Myself, wife an two boys 8 and 10, stayed at the Hilton on Marco Island from 06-20 to 06-25. Overall it was a great stay. We had reservations for the garden view and for the king bed and sofa sleeper, but were advised upon check in that they were all booked. They were able to move us to the 6th floor into a newly renovated room which overlooked the tennis courts and had a partial ocean view. The double beds are very small and really only room for one, (I'm 6'1" and 200 lbs.), but are comfortable. The pillows however are very airy with little support. Our room was large and the maids did a nice job keeping it clean and supplied.
We ate at the hotels informal dining on two occasions, I have forgotten its name, seated on their screened porch overlooking the ocean. The food was just average and the service was slow and inattentive at times. The ambiance of the hotel is good with a mixture of business persons and vacationers. The front grounds are attractive and nicely landscaped and we never had any problems parking in their spacious lot. Just a across the street you'll find several places to shop along with various eateries, which we found handy. One afternoon we drove up the road a mile or so and ate at Cocomos, good food and fair prices. We also drove up to Naples a few times to shop, eat and visit their beach, all which were worth the time.
We took the shelling boat tour which takes you past some of the ten thousand islands and then drops you off on Cape Ramano for an hour so that you can explore their very shelly beaches. Along the way we spotted not less than 5 Bald Eagles sitting in trees along the shoreline and had several close encounters with dolphins. A very good trip that we booked for half price at their beach side attraction/ticket sales office.
The pool area was very relaxing and always had seating available. Kids had a great time between the pool and the ocean which is just a 40 yards down their wooden walkway. The sunsets are beautiful and we got some postcard type pictures. Yes, the beach in spots is shelly, but there is plenty of sandy areas also. No complaints about the beach here. Great relaxing vacation spot after spending 5 days in Orlando/Disney.
Now its back to reality in Indiana.

We stayed at the Hilton from June 16th-June 24th for our second wedding anniversary. I was a littlle nervous after reading some reviews, but turns out that I should not have worried at all! We received a room with 2 double beds (our fault for not specifying). When we asked to switch , they told us they could not move us then b/c the resort was full, but to check back after the weekend. Sunday night they moved us, no problems.

The rooms are very clean and large & most rooms have a view of the gulf. We had a tennis court view, but our view of the gulf was pretty good. We ate at the casual restaurant one night and it was decently priced and good. The pool area is large, but there is not much shade there (only about one row of chairs in the PM). The beach is very shelly, I wore flip flops or just was very careful where I stepped. (I'm a wuss).

The towel hut at the pool always had plenty of fresh warm towels. We paid the resort fee for the last 2 days we were there, and also paid for the umbrella. Well worth it, but it would be nice if they were to include this in the room rate (at least the chairs anyway).

We went to eat at Snook Inn one night. The view was pretty cool as there was a family of dolphins swimming nearby. We found the food to be overpriced and just OK. Naples is close by ans has some great shopping. The Miromar outlets are AWESOME! There is also a high end mall in Naples that is under construction. It has (or will in a couple of months) all the high end stores: Gucci, Tiffany, Burberry, soon to be Louis Vuitton, Hermes, etc.

All in all it was a great relaxing vacation and I would definitely recommend this resort

We stayed at the Hilton for 4 nights on a tour of Florida and we loved it!! From the moment we arrived we were treated as if we were their only guests! The room was very comfortable, quite large and most do have Gulf views. They all have a balcony (we were on the 10th which was a little high up for my liking with 2 children!) with usual conviences fridge/coffemaker/iron/etc. It was handy having the bathroom and a separate dressing area with sink.
We had breakfast (not very much choice on the buffet all you can eat menu $14) but normal menu fine $40 for 3a1c . Also had evening meal which was to a high standard with excellent service. The pool area was nice with plenty of areas in the shade. There is a pool hut where you can borrow buckets/spades/googles etc. which was really handy for the kids. There are 2 walk ways to the beach with showers and even sinks to wash your shells!. We went to the beach and in the sea everyday and contrary to the other advisor, did not see one jellyfish. Our daughters loved snorkelling for shells and small fish. The sea was absolutley beautiful with warm waters which were clear (not like st Petes or clearwater). The loungers are free but you have to pay $14 for the umbrellas which didnt bother us at the beach hut. We also went on the Wave runner tour which was great. It was very well organised with nine jets in a line. Our instructor was very informative and it was lovely to see Dophins and Manatees in their natural habit. With regard to the shells on the beach, we walked on the sand without shoes and it was fine (there is always a ridge near sea where shells are).
Whilst we were there they cancelled the $9 resort fee for 3 days as they had to corner of part of the pool area to trim the trees after hurricane damage although there is no evidence of it now.
I would highly recommend th Hilton for a relaxing holiday on the beach and I'm already planning next vacation!
