“great vacation”
Reviewed August 17, 2004

This was the most relaxing vacation our family has had in a long time! The hotel was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. We booked our trip on Expedia and was a little nervous after reading the reviews, but we were more than pleased. Our 16 and 14 yr olds had a great time at the pool and the beach. Both were very clean. We were upgraded to an oceanview room. The fridge in the room was not as cold as we would have liked, but it certainly didn't ruin our trip. There is a great coffee house across the street with internet access for a small fee. Our kids went over in the evening to chat with friends at home. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. We plan on going back next year!

Have been to Florida many times and have spent most of it on southeast coast. I always thought that Mexico, specifically Puerta Vallarta and Acapulco were the most enjoyable locations I could visit. After spending 3 days on Marco Island I marveled at the "foreign feel" of it. Even though I was in the good ol' U.S. I couldn't help feeling that I was in an exotic location. Tropical feel was astounding. Even though the beach front has numerous high rise hotels, it still felt natural and unspoiled. The Hilton is first class. Clean, well furnished rooms. The pool is outstanding. Walked next door to the Raddison and couldn't believe how inferior it was to the Hilton. Friendly service, numerous restaurants and fantastic beach. Naples is a stone throw away and trendy restuarants and shops abound there. Will spend more than three days next time I go.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday, and what a gift it was. The hotel is small but elegant and our room had an ocean view despite the fact that it was considered a "garden view." We ate in Sandcastles which is the hotel's fine dining restaurant and also the Beach Grill (their poolside Bar). Both meals were exceptional. Service was friendly yet professional. The island itself is gorgeous. If you use the fitness facilities, be sure to pay the $9 a day resort charge as it gives you the access to that plus 2 beach chairs. Valet parking is included, but it seems a waste to use it as the lot is tiny (no long walk to your car) and the wait is long at peak times for someone to get your car. When you factor in the tip you are expected to pay the valet, it wasn't worth it for us. We had room service for breakfast one day and it was reasonable for a hotel of this caliber. We discovered a Dunkin Donuts down the road, so that is what we did after that (lot cheaper). There are 7-11 stores nearby also that one can get coffee and a muffin or danish too. We did that every day and ate al fresco on the balcony at the hotel.
I highly recommend this hotel as an incredible bargain. The pool is Wonderful too.

We are a middle-aged couple that stayed at the Hilton for a fantastic vacation in May. Marco is a
beautiful island and the Hilton a great hotel. The full gulfview room on the 10th. floor gave us a breathtaking view of the gulf. Awsome sunsets for the romantics. We enjoyed hanging out at the pool
everyday, and loved the long, clean beach for walks. Rent a convertible to check out Marco, and nearby Naples. We ate at many fine restaurants, but we wished we could take "Arturo's" restaurant back
home with us. A plus! Go to Old Naples pier, and take the sunset boat ride on the "Sweet Liberty".
Another A plus! Please note the hotel has mid-afternoon check-in. We arrived early, but enjoyed the pool and poolside cafe/bar till our room was ready. It was a great experience that we would love to repeat. Thank you Hilton!-----Robyn & Ken

Be very cautious of staying at this hotel, we booked our stay via the internet at a discounted price offered from the hotel. Once we arrived, they tried to charge us an additional $9.00 a day for extras such as daily newspaper, 2 beach chairs on the Gulf, valet parking. When reading the information on the hotel, all these little extras come across as being included in the initial price offered. Read all information carefully - laundry valet is not the same as laundry facility.
Your hotel sets the kind of vacation you will have - we had horrible maid service (skipped cleaning our room twice and did not perform turn-down 3 times), horrible customer service from everyone ranging to the front desk, to the waiters in the restaurant to the people who will rent you wave-runners and parasail tickets - the entire trip was horrible .
We delivered an ice cream birthday cake to the hotel and asked them to hold it while we went to the movies, they lost it - how do you explain to a 7 year old that the hotel lost your birthday cake? When they found the cake the next day, we discovered it was in the refridgerator not the freezer as requested.
There are so many nicer hotels on the Island, look once, look twice then decide not to stay at the Hilton. I'm also a Hilton member and I will never stay at a Hilton again.

I took my 6 year old daughter on vacation and needed a hotel with a great pool, easy beach access with calm water (so I wouldn't come back from the trip exhausted supervising her) and enough ammenities to offer some variety. This hotel was the perfect choice - and I will return. The staff are wonderful - courteous and so helpful - the rooms are immaculate and spacious, everything is easily available, and there is a small children's program. The balconies are the perfect place to sit in the evening once the little ones are in bed. The restaurants aren't cheap, but they aren't expensive either. You can eat by the pool, or inside in the evening - and if you want to save money you can get cereal & milk (no problem with the refrigerator) and have breakfast in the room (or on the beach at sunrise as we did). The close beach access (over a wonderful wooden walkway) allows children to run from pool to beach and back again as often as they like and takes you to a calm gulf where pelicans swoop, and dolphins swim offshore. This beach also has nesting turtles and the hotels enforce night darkness to ensure the turtles aren'y disturbed. A vacation and learning experience in one! The beach is also a mass of shells (which make sitting a bit difficult) and it is amazing how much time children love to spend collecting them. The hotel is close to the Everglades Wonder Garden and it makes a nice trip. When I discovered the resort facility fee I spoke to reception pointing out I wasn't using any of it - and they removed the charge. This is a perfect hotel for single parents -or families - and I will definitely return.

I thought this place was really great. You feel very welcome. The rooms are just gorgeous and the staff are woderful. he room are clean and well kept. I thought it was very nice. I love that they have complimentary breakest cards. There is great resturants inside the hotel. They are very good. I also love the pool. Although it is a little cold it is great to jump in after being in the hot sun. The beach is very nice too. The water is warm but the sand still has shells. So wear sandals and don't go barefoot. Also there is convenient movie theather and a great gift store across the street. Although there not alot besides whats close by the hotel.
