“Fantastic!!!!”
Reviewed April 3, 2008

What an amazing hotel. We have just returned after spending a week in a villa in Orlando (very busy), a week in a villa in Naples and then a stay in the Marco in the Hilton. We have always stayed in villas when visting Florida and I have to say my next stay will definately include a week at the Marco Hilton.
The rooms were lovely and the view of the beach from our balcony was amazing. The beach was fantastic and you are automatically allocated 4 sunbeds per room so there was no hassle there. The pool area was lovely although a bit busy but we were visting during Spring Break so that was to be expected. The food was fantastic and although not as cheap as normal dining in America it was still very reasonably priced by English standards. The watersports on the beach were fantastic and the jet ski tour is a must do. My partner was jet skiing along side a school of dolphins.
The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. All in all a fantastic hotel I would reccomend to anybody.

This is a beautiful hotel. The construction was not an issue - asked for a room away from it upon check in. The pool was never crowded. It is very quiet area (all of Marco Island), so if you're looking for night life, this will not be for you. For our family, however, it was PERFECT. I can't say enough about the staff - they were all wonderful. The rooms were spacious and clean. Flat sceen TV, desk area, big bathroom with a second sink outside of the bathroom - worked out great to have with a family of 4 sharing the room. The beds were very comfortable with nice linens. There was a sofa bed and coffee table. My favorite part of the room was the pato overlooking the pool where you could sit and relax and watch the sunsets.
The fridge and storage area in the room worked out great - We stopped at a Wal-Mart along the way to Marco and bought food for breakfasts, lunches and snacks. We'd eat breakfast in the room and I'd make sandwiches to bring to the pool. This saved us a lot of money as we really only spent money on dinners (and pool side drinks!). . Best place we ate at was Joey's Pizza - awesome pizza!!
Take the jet ski tour through the 10,000 islands- what an experience (we booked through the watersports hut at the Hilton - they were all pretty much the same prices along the beach).
We walked down to the Mariott and it was so crowded. It was very nice, but I wouldn't pay the $400-500 to stay there.
The whole experience at the Hilton exceeded our expectations - we are a family of 4 traveling with 2 sons ages 9 and 13 - we would LOVE to return to this great hotel and beautiful location - since we're a family on a budget we tried to save money in other areas to stay here and we all agreed that this hotel was worth every penney.

We stayed here for spring break, in a big suite facing North overlooking the pool and ocean. The beds were very nice. The construction on the south side of the hotel would have been a poor view, but I really didn't hear them out there during our stay.
It's a beautiful hotel with a nice pool area for the kids and a great stretch of beach. My kids absolutely loved it.
It was rather expensive though, and for the money I was surprised they sort of nickel and dimed people, charging $10 for internet access, $20 to park (without the valet parking), having $12 cheeseburgers at the poolside bar..etc. Their breakfast buffet was amazing, but for $32 I guess it should have been.
My thoughts are that it was a very nice place to vacation, but not a great value.

Travellers should be aware that there is ongoing construction at the adjoining property to the south of the hotel. Very noisy during the day and a lot of dust preventing enjoyment of any balcony.

I would estimate that this construction will continue during most of 2008.

Extra money spent for partial ocean view was money wasted!

Marriott property to the north is probably better bet for an enjoyable stay at the same level of amenities.

Had a great experience at this Hilton. I was worried about reports of noise from the construction next door, but either the noisy part is over, or I was lucky. At reservation and again upon check-in, I asked for a room facing away from the construction, thanks to the suggestions by other TripAdvisor members. I was given a nice room overlooking the pool and gulf, and a decent view of the sunset. In fact, the most noise I heard at the poolside was from some rowdy (albeit friendly) professional football players who were guests at the hotel, and who were blatantly ignoring the "No Diving" rules. Oh, and the mood guitarist that was playing on the sunset viewing balcony near the pool also qualified as "noise".
The beach was very clean, and they eliminated the charge for beach chairs, allowing up to four free chairs per room, which was a very smart idea. Although I wouldn't get an umbrella anyway, I thought $18 for a single day's use was ridiculously steep.
The room itself was very nicely appointed and clean. The in-room fridge is a brilliant idea; seems like more and more hotels are providing these for their guests, and this Hilton seems to have "gotten the memo". There were some nice places to eat around the island, so I can't comment on any of the on-site restaurants.
It was overall a great experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Really a very good hotel. Not much more to add to the other reviews, as they are all accurate. My only irritation is the poor quality "hotel" food and drinks. Very little is freshly made, in spite of the large tab ($10.00 for a mix drink). Only 1 drink was made using fresh ingredients, all the other were "bar" mixes.
The Friday "famous" seafood buffet seemed like it was designed by the accountant. From the in-shell shrimp, to the pre-cooked pasta, to the tasteless fish curry, stay away from all things edible if you even care about quality.
That said, I would stay at this hotel again, but would look elsewhere to eat.

My husband and I booked a long weekend at the Hilton Marco Ilsand and had a wonderful time! The best part was how friendly the entire staff was. We were so impressed with the way everyone smiled, said "hello" and made eye contact during our entire stay. There was one rather grumpy woman working in the gift shop - she had a terrible cold and should not have been at work -- but she was the exception to an otherwise super-friendly staff.

The rooms pretty much all have a view - some only a sliver, some facing the pool and beach. We were in room 827 which faced a building undergoing a complete renovation. We had a view of a crane out our window, but we could see the beautiful ocean and sandy beach as well.

Our least favorite part of the trip was the excercise room. They have a beautiful spa in the planning stages, but right now, the room is one suite and it's crowded, hot, and smelly -- three treadmills, a few machines, a set of weights. I hope they improve that before our next stay.
