We stayed here for spring break, in a big suite facing North overlooking the pool and ocean. The beds were very nice. The construction on the south side of the hotel would have been a poor view, but I really didn't hear them out there during our stay.
It's a beautiful hotel with a nice pool area for the kids and a great stretch of beach. My kids absolutely loved it.
It was rather expensive though, and for the money I was surprised they sort of nickel and dimed people, charging $10 for internet access, $20 to park (without the valet parking), having $12 cheeseburgers at the poolside bar..etc. Their breakfast buffet was amazing, but for $32 I guess it should have been.
My thoughts are that it was a very nice place to vacation, but not a great value.

Travellers should be aware that there is ongoing construction at the adjoining property to the south of the hotel. Very noisy during the day and a lot of dust preventing enjoyment of any balcony.

I would estimate that this construction will continue during most of 2008.

Extra money spent for partial ocean view was money wasted!

Marriott property to the north is probably better bet for an enjoyable stay at the same level of amenities.

Had a great experience at this Hilton. I was worried about reports of noise from the construction next door, but either the noisy part is over, or I was lucky. At reservation and again upon check-in, I asked for a room facing away from the construction, thanks to the suggestions by other TripAdvisor members. I was given a nice room overlooking the pool and gulf, and a decent view of the sunset. In fact, the most noise I heard at the poolside was from some rowdy (albeit friendly) professional football players who were guests at the hotel, and who were blatantly ignoring the "No Diving" rules. Oh, and the mood guitarist that was playing on the sunset viewing balcony near the pool also qualified as "noise".
The beach was very clean, and they eliminated the charge for beach chairs, allowing up to four free chairs per room, which was a very smart idea. Although I wouldn't get an umbrella anyway, I thought $18 for a single day's use was ridiculously steep.
The room itself was very nicely appointed and clean. The in-room fridge is a brilliant idea; seems like more and more hotels are providing these for their guests, and this Hilton seems to have "gotten the memo". There were some nice places to eat around the island, so I can't comment on any of the on-site restaurants.
It was overall a great experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Really a very good hotel. Not much more to add to the other reviews, as they are all accurate. My only irritation is the poor quality "hotel" food and drinks. Very little is freshly made, in spite of the large tab ($10.00 for a mix drink). Only 1 drink was made using fresh ingredients, all the other were "bar" mixes.
The Friday "famous" seafood buffet seemed like it was designed by the accountant. From the in-shell shrimp, to the pre-cooked pasta, to the tasteless fish curry, stay away from all things edible if you even care about quality.
That said, I would stay at this hotel again, but would look elsewhere to eat.

My husband and I booked a long weekend at the Hilton Marco Ilsand and had a wonderful time! The best part was how friendly the entire staff was. We were so impressed with the way everyone smiled, said "hello" and made eye contact during our entire stay. There was one rather grumpy woman working in the gift shop - she had a terrible cold and should not have been at work -- but she was the exception to an otherwise super-friendly staff.

The rooms pretty much all have a view - some only a sliver, some facing the pool and beach. We were in room 827 which faced a building undergoing a complete renovation. We had a view of a crane out our window, but we could see the beautiful ocean and sandy beach as well.

Our least favorite part of the trip was the excercise room. They have a beautiful spa in the planning stages, but right now, the room is one suite and it's crowded, hot, and smelly -- three treadmills, a few machines, a set of weights. I hope they improve that before our next stay.

We just got back from a one week stay at the Hilton Marco Island, with our 1 year old and 2 year old daughters. We had a late flight so we did not arrive to the hotel until midnight. We were in our room within 5 minutes. The security officer assisted us with our luggage, and housekeeping brought us 2 cribs immediately. The rooms are very spacious and we had a balcony overlooking, yes, the construction, and the beach. But, you could not hear anything through the sliding glass doors and we were not in the room much during the day anyway. You cannot hear the construction at the pool at all, and only slightly on the beach.
The pool was great and the woman who was working at the towel stand saw me struggling to blow up my daughters float and offered to blow it up for me with a pump that she had behind the stand. You could have as many beach towels as you wanted, and you could borrow sand toys and large floats and noodles for the pool! It was great.

The beach is beautiful, and the hotel has waitress service, so you can enjoy a PIna Colada, without ever having to leave your beach chair. Oh yeah, the beach chairs are complimentary as well. You do need to rent the umbrellas, but if you wait until after 1, they discount the rental.

The staff were very friendly and always helpful. We asked the concierge for some recommendations for restaurants to go to with the kids and she gave us a list of Marco Island restaurants and highlighted 2 that we tried, and were very pleased.

Overall, we loved it and can't wait to go back!!
