The Marco Island Hilton was great. Beautiful beach, large pool, large rooms. The staff went out of their way to make the visit enjoyable. Rooms could be, and are, being updated. Would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Hilton in May 2012. We paid for a 'garden view' room and got room 217. I was excited to be able to see both the pool and the beach. Our room looked just like it does in the pictures on the hotel website. There's a small, dorm sized refrigerator, coffee maker, iron, hairdryer and night light in the room. We never watched the TV. This was a wonderful place to stay. There's a mall across the street with a few good choices for restaurants: Konrads, Nacho Mama's, and Divinci's. There's a place to get ice cream. The toilet was not a very good flushing toilet. We had to call maintenance twice. The room was very quiet. We paid $10/day to park our car in the lot. The pool area is beautiful. It was such a relaxing stay. I'm so glad we stayed here! Although they say you have to pay for Internet access they have free wired Internet in the business area. You can find it by turning right after the front desk as you walk toward the pool, then turn right at the end of the hall. You'll find "Laptop Workstations" right to the left. They have the cable you can connect to your computer in those rooms.

We stayed at the Hilton over Spring Break this April. While the location is great and the beach is very nice, the rooms are tired at best. After requesting a different room (the first one smelled like cigarettes and had damp, terribly stained carpet), they gave us a new room that also had damp stained carpets. We were told the first rooms damp carpet was because they had just shampooed the carpet (definitely NOT true). It's never a good sign when a hotel has a "reed diffuser" hidden behind the TV to mask the rooms smell (and that was in both rooms). We had a rollaway bed and the frame was caked with dust. When I told the manager he said he would immediately notify housekeeping and would go see it himself. Well, they gave us another room (they are obviously used to this request as we met people on the beach who had also moved their room) and delivered the same caked on dusty rollaway bed - go figure! These were not cheap rooms either (ocean view). They are scheduled for a renovation which is desperately needed.

Room Tip: Wait till the renovation is done!

We stayed at hilton in Marco the end of April. We went last May also, We always enjoy our stay. We got upgraded to a room close to the beach (poolside). I love the beach there - it is beautiful!! The sunsets are amazing. Like the pool area also. As for restaurants we like to go to CJ's at the Esplanade. There is a great outside bar overlooking a marina also! Can eat inside or outside. No seats at bar outside so we ate at the bar inside which we liked. There are other restaurants at the Esplanade also. We also go to the Snook Inn (1215 Bald Eagle Drive) for a casual dinner. We went there but too crowded - could not even find a parking spot. So we went to Old Marco Lodge in Goodland. A very casual place - But people go there for the good food and a nice spot just to go and sit outside and have a drink & appetizers. (on a river and can see the sunset. For B'fst we tried Nene's kitchen (297 N. Collier Blvd). Very good and seems like a popular spot. Across the street from Hilton there are some restaurants and shops. We ate at DaVinci's last year. It was good. We walked the beach to the Marriott for Happy hour. Good outside bar. We had 2 days of rain so could not enjoy the beach then!! The Hilton is going to be redoing their rooms (soon I think). had no complaints about the hotel. Except the rates were a lot higher this year than last year(same month)

Room Tip: Ask for a complimentary upgrade - they will usually do it for you. We stayed in a room overlooking p...

We returned to Marco Island after a gap of 16 years and we were amazed at the changes. Previously there had been a dearth of shops and good restaurants on the island and now the whole place has been transformed with beautifully landscaped roads, several good shopping malls and supermarkets, and a large number of good eating places.

We had previously stayed at the Marriott, which was huge, but on this occasion we chose the Hilton. The service at the hotel was really excellent with almost everyone smiling and being friendly even if only passing in the corridor. We had a 'gulfview junior suite' which was a nice room, but nothing particularly special as we had a side view of the gulf overlooking the spa and tennis courts. If we had expected a full sea view we would have been rather disappointed, but having read the Tripadvisor comments we knew what to expect.

The daily charge of $10 for the car park was a little annoying, and we could see no reason for paying any additional extra charge for valet parking, as the distance to the hotel was so little.

The pool area was adequate and never full during our stay, but there was little shade if the sun had been really hot (which it wasn't!). It is good that a resort such as this does not charge for beach loungers, but we thought the 'nominal charge' of $18 + Tax for the sun umbrellas on the beach was excessive. During our stay the weather became very unsettled (we actually had two very rainy days, which was almost unheard of at this time of year) and the beach was therefore not a viable option for sun bathing. The pool area was fine, when the sun was out, as this was also sheltered from the wind.

We had breakfast in the Paradise Cafe every day during our stay apart from one when we crossed the road to try Stonemills. This was a mistake as the service at Stonemills was almost non-existent, it took ages to get our meal despite there only being 6 people in the restaurant, and it cost just as much as the breakfast at the Hilton. The Hilton breakfast buffet was fine and there was a choice of either the full breakfast, or a continental, which suited us just fine. There were plenty of servers at breakfast and they were always friendly and attentive.

The Concierge at the hotel, Tina, was great and extremely helpful to us throughout our stay. She recommended several very good restauarants that we tried and all were good (especially DaVinci's). Plus she suggested that, in view of the mixed weather, we might like to try an airboat tour of the everglades with Speedy Johnson. This was really great fun and pretty good value for money. We did not see any alligators during the tour (it's quite noisy), but we did see a racoon and several ospreys. After the tour we drove a short distance to Turner Road and there were loads of alligators to see and photograph just at the side of the road - and all for free!

We certainly enjoyed our stay at the Hilton and would not hesitate to stay there again on any future visit.

Room Tip: The higher the floor and the nearer to the beachfront of the hotel would give the best view of the s...

This was my second stay at the hotel and while I have no complaints, I find it rather tired. The location is nice and it has all the anticipated facilities, but nothing stands out.

I chose it for convinence when visiting relatives, but if I was in Marco Island for any other reason, I'm certain I would pick another location.

Hotel overall was nice, although I agree with others that it falls short of Hilton standards. Definitely could use updating. I was there for a conference so did not use the pool or get to enjoy the beach, but both were really nice and I wish I has stayed an extra day just to enjoy. The food we had (as part of the conference) was all great. And the service was excellent. Overall, great location and nice stay.
