“Marco makes a beach visit difficult ”
Reviewed May 9, 2014 via mobile

First trip to Marco... A beautiful place to be but if you are a family looking for a beach vacation this is not the place to be unless you are staying in the very expensive high rise buildings on the beach. There are no beach front houses to rent....plenty of beautiful canal front homes with your own pool/ dock are available at very reasonable rates. That being said getting to the beach is a chore. There are only two public beaches and parking is at a premium. You must pay the City $8 or a private lot $10. Then you must haul all your gear quite a way just to get to the beach! Tiger tail then throws in the added obstacle-a lagoon you must wade through (up to my butt) to finally arrive at the shore! I'm not kidding! How do families with small children do this?

“Pretty beach with lots of shells”
Reviewed May 7, 2014

We walked here from our hotel, it was well worth it. We plan on going again during our stay. The beach is really pretty and quiet . There are a lot of big rocks to sit on and there were a lot of people fishing of the shore. I found a lot of neat shells and hope to find more today. I would recommend going here if you are staying at Marco island. Also if you go here and get a parking pass for eight dollars, it is good for the day and you can use it to go to Tiger tail Beach too.

“great beach to walk on”
Reviewed April 20, 2014

we were members of Residents beach and in fact got married there! however, if you're interested in walking for exercise, the south beach is perfect as the sand is firmer and easier to walk on than resident's beach sand. it's great and lots of fun!

This beach is beautiful! Not too crowded either. Alot of shells on the sand though, so make sure you wear shoes.

“Beautiful!”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

Very big and beautiful beach. It does have a lot of shells by the public entrance but if you walk 5-10 minutes it gets better. No better way to spend a day than at the beach. We went during spring break and it was busy but it never seemed crowded. I cannot wait to go back.
