“Sisters' Gathering”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

Crystal Shores is a great place for a short vacation in a beach-side condo. I visited recently with my sisters. The condos are modern, spacious, and well appointed. If you need a colandar, corkscrew or carrot peeler in the kitchen, no problem. The staff is well-informed and hospitable. We had a lovely five day vacation. We made coffee and breakfast each day, then lounged around on the large balcony thinking about our plans for the day, which always included the beach and walks on the beach. We chose to eat dinners out, and the staff gave us welcomed recommendations. I would suggest a thirty minute ride to Naples if you want a choice of grourmet experiences, but the fresh grouper at Little Bar is terrific. We also enjoyed a very nice dinner at Sasso's. I hope to return to Crystal Shores!

Our family of four visited for a week in April 2012. Great time, very relaxing. Have the kids do the 1pm ice cream sundays every day! Pools were great. Great workout room on the 14th floor, and it is a good area to watch the sunset from. Gas grilles worked well. A little too breezey all the time in the wind tunnels between buildings, but that is related to climate and building design. Stilts Bar and Restaurant was great. The beach was wonderful. Calm waters (but no boogie boarding and not much skim boarding potential). Our boys played in the ocean a lot though with the calm waters. The 7-eleven across the street was key! Slurpees, Big Gulps, etc.... Convenient to the movie theater and many, many restaurants across the street. Walking the beach was wonderful. Nearby air boat tours were a blast and there is great availability of parasailing, jet-skis and more. My boys wished there was a basketball hoop somewhere other than the pool, but that kept them happy. No tennis or spa on site, but there are others around to look into.

Room Tip: I would choose at least 4th floor or above. The building is not that big so almost all the rooms ar...

Don't arrive early! I arrived at 4pm for a 4pm check in, unfortunately I was told that my room was not ready. We waited for 2 hrs to finally get into a room. We did get a $50 credit......
The room was clean and well maintained and clean. It was large and roomy. The staff was not very friendly, except for Courtney at Stilts. Stilts is a great location but pricey. Overall it was a very nice stay.

I am very hot and cold on this Marriott Vacation Club property. I own 2 Vacation Club weeks and have stayed at many vacation club properties over the last 10 years. This vacation club is a converted hotel by marriott with a promise of future development. The gulf fron units are very nice, although the master bedroom is a bit small compared to other vacation clubs. Nice Balcony and view. i agree with another reviewer that if you are in a gulf view villa you will have zero sun in the afternoon and the one pool with the water slide gets very little sun at all. The beach is great one of the best of the MVC properties. Stilts restaurant is good but i agree with the other reviewer who said the prices were a bit high. Compared to other MVC's worst check in area and marketplace. This is what i meant by Marriot needs to invest and develope this property or get out of it because they are not meeting standards in my opinion.

If Marriott is telling owners they are waiting for more inventory to be purchased in the current facility before continuing development then they need to do a better job at selling. This is the first time i have stayed at a MVC and not ever been asked to participate in a sales presentation.

There is definately a need to spruce this place up, I am not sayin it is bad, better than most other property's on Marco, but not what i expect from a MVC property.

Room Tip: if you want sun and beach view get gulf front

This place is wonderful. Been here several times and it's always a first class experience. The beach is perfect. Warm water, weather is always good. Don't need to worry about coming here and getting rained out. The rooms are like a first class hotel. Food options excellent. And if you like fishing, it doesn't get any better.

I am a Marriot destinations owner and have been to many marriot vacation clubs. Sadly enough this one is the one I thought would be top on my stays. To make a long story short. Their was absolutely no pool side service at all during my stay. You would of needed to rent a cabana to get any drinks or food by the pool. if I needed to get my own drinks by the pool I'd rather stay home by my pool. I was super disappointed and would rather stay at the other Marriot using my points because they seemed to have more ammenities even service by the beach. the only service member that was very kind and helpful during our stay was Richard. They need to hire more people like him to help run a better Marriot vacation club there.

Great get a way , 2 and half hour flight to The SW Florida Airport; from there , Marco Island is a one hour drive to this Marriot time share property. Spacous with specacular vistas of the beachfront and the gulf of Mexico.

With a full living area , two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms it was ideal for a couples week on the beach. The two pools worked well as it seemed kids stayed stuck to the one with the water slide!
But if you like to enjoy the beach; a short walk over the sand dunes and you can RENT chairs and an umbrella to get out of the sun.( expensive, think about BUYING fron a local merchant in Naples its cheaper for a week ) The balcony in our unit was HUGH and after 3 pm in the afternoon there was not a better place to enjoy the setting sun! One resturant on site STITS; , very casual ,okay for lunch..........try area resturants they were amazing ,or head over to old downtown Naples for a treat at Sea Salt!.
We would return to the area for sure.

Room Tip: Rooms above the fourth floor BEACHFRONT facing the GULF. 505 /605/705 /ETC are coner rooms...
