Really enjoyed this Marriott timeshare. Lovely, topnotch, 2 Bd, 2 bath villa..very spacious. Ocean view corner room had a view of the gulf, Marco island town and the Hilton.....reason for four star rating.... Requested oceanfront but it wasn't available through an exchange...unfortunately! The staff was excellent as were the "stilts sunset" cocktails at the outdoor bar. Loved the beach but didn't care for all the high-rises on Marco island. This small, highrise complex has only 60 units so it never felt crowded. Pools were beautiful. The grill area was great, they were well maintained and reliable. Fabulous, huge balcony with very comfy lounge chairs and dining chairs.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor

I apologize for not sharing any earlier but I wanted to keep this place to myself. I just returned from another stay this past weekend, September 10th-11th. One quick note: Marco is a beautiful island with excellent beaches. This resort sits right on the beach and the gulf front views are spectacular. There are two zero entry pools, perfect for the little ones. One of the pools has a water slide that suits the older children. The resort has activities throughout the day and posts the times on a board leading to the beach. It is a beautiful resort but one of the best features is the staff. The desk staff and security personnel are the best around. They are overly friendly and go out of their way to help the guests. I was notified before check-in, at check-in, and other times of the potential noise from construction at the resort. As a result, we were given free use of chairs and umbrellas on the beach. I did not see nor hear any construction while I was there. At check-in I was told that my room was not ready and may not be for sometime (I was at the resort very early). I was called within an hour to tell me that my room was ready (prior to noon). The addition of the flags around the property on September 11th was very nice to see.

Now on the rooms, unbelievable. The rooms are very large with a full kitchen stocked with all kitchen essentials. The two bedroom rooms have two full bathrooms, a bedroom with two queen beds, a master with a king and sitting area, a dining area, a living room, and two large balconies. There is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. The decor is beautiful and makes one feel very welcomed. There were three flat screen TVs with DVD players. The only drawback was that the room and balconies made us questioned why we should head to the beach.

The resort does have one restaurant/bar with several flat screen TVs and plenty of seating. The prices are a little high, but this is a tourist location/island. There are also several restaurants/bars, a movie theatre, shops, and convenience stores walking distance across the street.

This was a great place that I have been to on three occasions and will be back several times in the future. I would highly recommend this resort and Marriott properties in general.

Room Tip: All rooms are great, gulf front is spectacular.

My husband and I had some Marriott points gifted to us. We had never been to the Gulf side of Florida and Crystal Shores was available, so we used the opportunity to take a 5 night kid-free vacation. We were definitely in the minority as the resort is very much geared towards families, but we enjoyed our trip are looking forward to coming back with our daughter.

Rooms - I've stayed at several Vacation Club properties and the rooms at Crystal Shores are very moden and well appointed. We had a 2 BR unit, which was more than enough room for my husband and I, but would have accomodated a family of 4-5 easily. I liked the open kitchen, dining room, living room concept. I agree with some of the previous reviews that more comfortable indoor furniture is needed - the room could have been reconfigured to fit a couple sofas or a sectional easily. The outdoor terrace was among the largest that I've seen.

Staff - Was always very friendly and greeting guests. We received good recommendations for restaurants and did not have any issues with check in/out. They had a lot of kids' activities, which were always well attended.

Parking - Very easy in/out. I did think the lot was rather small. We were there in the off season, so it wasn't a problem, but I wonder if parking is a problem during high season.

Pools - Were very nice and clean. The zero depth pools, slides and sprinklers were nice features. We did not spend a lot of time at the pool, but if we had our daughter in tow, we certainly would have

Beach - This was the highlight for us. A quick walk across the boardwalk and we were able to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella and charge to the room. We spent most of our time here. Even in June, it was very pleasant under the umbrella with the Gulf Breeze

Food - We ate at the restaurant (Silts) for lunch a couple of times. Nothing amazing, but was good if you want a quick, easy lunch on the property.

Overall - Very nice Vacation Club property. Would definitely come back with the kids for a family vacation.

This does not look like other, nicer, Marriott Vacation Clubs.
Location on the beach.
The entrance is not grandiose... more like a trailer that has a temporary function.
Only one - friendly - lady present there to check us in, and she also had to take our luggage up to our rooms.
Access to the elevators, especially with luggage, is cumbersome: through various gates and past the pool.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom/2 baths with friends.
One of the good things was the very spacious lanai overlooking the Gulf.
The unit itself looked like an older one spruced up a bit.
Very low ceilings, very low countertops in the bathrooms, not like other MVCs at all. Rooms were clean, beds were good. Kitchen was well-equiped.
It was very quiet due to the off-season so there wasn't a whole lot to do. The restaurant was closed on the day that we wanted to have dinner: bad weather.
Beautiful, clean beach with lounge chairs for which normally a fee is charged, though not on the days we were there. Access from the hotel via a boardwalk with 2 gates.
All in all, good for a few days of peace and quiet. I would not like to stay for an extended period but that is personal.

This is an excellent property in every way. The condo units are beautifully done with high end kitchen, plenty of seating, gulf views. There were 7 of us (6 adults and one baby) in a two bedroom unit. It was tight, but it can be done ! Balcony views are beautiful - the condo has at least two gulf view balconies. Two pools, cabanas, steps from the beach. Employees are helpful and friendly. Excellent Vacation !

Room Tip: Small property, book early, gulf front or gulf side views. 2 and 3 bedroom units.

The Crystal Shores was a very nice place to stay, though built rather oddly. From the parking lot, you walk to a building; now you're under a covered walkway. But to get to the elevators, you have to go back out into the open, across the pool area, and into the breezeway. Really a nuisance when you're loading and unloading... and a royal pain when it's raining. We arrived right at 4:00 which is check-in time. Our unit was not available until 4:30, so we had to cool our heels. Good thing we hadn't stopped at the grocery store for our perishables on the way in! Once we got into the unit, it was very nice; well kept up... the outside furniture on our balcony was the nicest I've ever seen at a resort timeshare. The master shower was amazing... but there was no jacuzzi tub, which was a surprise. The walkway to the beach is very nice, and a really cool thing: when you rent the beach chairs & umbrella from the vendor on the beach, you can charge them to your room, so you don't have to take cash to the beach.

Our family of 12 grandparents & parents & children all split two -2 room suites.
Which truth be told is the size of a comfortable condo in most big cities.

Positives:
1) Rooms were modern & tasteful decor
2) 2 pools were at most kid depth & better suited to wading for adults
3) Plenty of chairs for everyone
4) Cabanas were great for family
5) Beach easily accessible
6) Staff is super nice
7) Fully stocked kitchen (except food of course)
8) Wifi works everywhere (except beach of course)

Negatives:
1) Charge for everything like beach chairs & umbrella
2) Cabanas are expensive
3) Collier road is full of lights
4) Pillows are too soft (neck gets kinked up in AM)

Summary:

Great time & going in we knew about the extra charges. We ate mostly off campus since there are a bunch of good restaurants around.
Going to Naples was fa 45 min trip since Collier is full of lights & the freeways in SW FL are a ways from where you usually are located.
But overall, I would recommend this place for the great rooms, family pools, cabanas, big kitchen, local restaurants & friendly staff.
