We dined at NeNe's for dinner on Feb. 19. You get a free glass of wine with any dinner entree. The only available wine is the house, Smoking Loon, from Chile. We were familiar with this; NeNe's offers Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. If you want more than one glass, additionals are sold at $5 or bottles for the very reasonable $18. We both had the seafood platter, available fried, broiled, or blackened. You also get a fresh, crisp salad and choice of potato. Everything was delicious. Cost: $17.95. We opted for the broiled grouper, shrimp, and scallops on the platter. The grouper, a fresh catch this time of year, was melt-in-your-mouth. We met some locals who went there for a birthday - they obviously know value and good food. This is important to us: where the locals dine in a town full of vacationers this time of year. Most of the patrons seemed to be locals also. Our server was friendly and professional; not much of a wait for a table or food at 7:30 p.m. The remainder of the dinner menu included beef/chicken/pork staples and Italian selections. Excellent food and value here. We closed the place while fininshing off the bottle of wine at 9:00, and the friendly staff didn't push us toward the door while turning the lights up and cleaning up. Great neighborhood feel. For a visitor, a nice hometown ambiance.
