“A nice beach but beware the walk”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

I had read other reviews that mentioned the walk to the beach. After you park your car, you can walk right down to the lagoon where the water is pretty murky. To be on the actual beach, you need to walk about 10 minutes or so around to your left. Not a bad walk, but if you are carrying your cooler, your beach chairs and your other beach necessities, your arms will get tired. One of those beach carts would definitely be helpful here. Otherwise, the beach was very nice, not too crowded. Also, if you need to use the restroom, you will have to walk back to the parking lot where the public facilities are located so plan ahead.

“Fabulous natural area - beautiful sunsets”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

Summer brings nesting birds and loggerhead sea turtles to the shores of the outer sandy beach that shapes the tidal lagoon. The birds feed in the mangrove encircled lagoon during low tide when the mudflats are exposed. Roseate Spoonbills have been spotted feeding in the lagoon at the northern area near Hideaway beach picnic area restroom. Many winter visitors are starting to return to the area. Willets have been seen feeding. Tigertail is on the Great Florida Birding Trail for a reason - spectacular at low tide.

If quick access for the beach experience is your desire, park at the new dune crossover at the southern end of the parking lot. This walkover is handicap accessible. The County will be constructing a new restroom facility for beachgoers at this walkover in a couple of months. Walk towards the condos for quick access to the beautiful white sand Marco beach.

Free if you walk or bike to the park. Parking $8 or free with Collier County property owner /resident sticker available at the Library.

“Very Deceiving !!”
Reviewed August 1, 2013 via mobile

My husband and our friends had read the reviews and decided to come here for the day, we pulled in and paid $8 to park for the day, which we thought was a good deal. We parked and walked to the area that we thought was the beach - it turned out to be a mucky bay where the water had the mud on the bottom. The land was flat and there was no beach and it smelled like sewer. Come to find out the beach is a 10 minute walk down the sand! We ended up leaving due to frustration and ended up at South Beach which was much more convenient and nice!

“Beautiful”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Lovely quiet beach, lots of greenery and butterfly's. Not many people go to this beach so it's alot more peaceful. Great playground for kids to play and a snack bar . Not a great place to swim but lots of beach toys to ride on. Rental fees are average.

For early risers, the beach is yours! Beautiful birds nesting in the tall grass, sulky pelicans gathering on the sand...come watch the sunrise on this piece of paradise!
