Beach Place Condos at John's Pass Village
Reviewed January 6, 2009

If you are vacationing in the Tampa/St. Petersburg vicinity, you can NOT do better than booking a condo unit at Beach Place Condos in Madeira Beach. We booked Unit 512 for 9 days during Christmas 2008. It is a large, well equipped 3 bedroom with a glorious few of the Gulf of Mexico from our balcony. Within minutes of depositing our luggage in the rooms , we had spotted dolphins swimming just off shore.

This was our 3rd time renting at Beach Place ( thanks Gary!!!) and each time (twice in unit 508) has been a pleasant experience. If you are going to rent, bear in mind that this is not a hotel ... you are staying at someone's home. The units are very clean, but you may find the quality and/or extent of the kitchen facilities varies from unit owner to unit owner. For example, during our stay in #512, there were only 6 dessert forks available to eat dinner with, and the set of kitchen knives were not the greatest of quality ... but you make do. On the other hand, the cooking appliances/fridge and pots and pans were excellent. T.Vs, small stereo, wireless internet all very acceptable. Sleeping facilities exceptionally clean and comfortable. By the way, the new gas B.B.Q. is an impressive addition since our last stay and was utilized almost everyday ... it was also a great way to meet and chat with other renters from all parts of North America trying to escape the winter weather in the north.

Location can't be beat ... it's up to you to enjoy the day.

Given what you get when you stay at Beach Place, why would you even consider staying anywhere else?

We found this to be everything we expected. Rented our place online from SunHost website. No surprises, except the unbelievable sunshine everyday!
Unit 304, not directly facing the beach but very well kept. Obvious the owners take time to make sure it is nice. We liked the onsite office if we had a problem they were right there every day.

We just had a great week staying in 302 at Sandy Shores (part of Beach Place). Our condo had a balcony overlooking the pool and beach, both of which are very clean. The pool and surrounding areas were thoroughly cleaned every day. The sunsets were amazing and we watched dolphins playing. The condo had a nice upgraded kitchen and was very clean. I think the work on the bridge is nearly finished but it is a bit of a nuisance if you want to turn left out of the property, you have to go across the bridge and come back, if the bridge is up it can take several minutes. My only issues with the condo are that there is no hair dryer and the lighting in the bedroom and walk in wardrobe is very dim, also there is only a small window in the bedroom which is over the beds, at night there is a bright light from the walkways shining into the bedroom, the blinds didn't block out the light. We would definitely stay in this condo again though, overall it was very nice.

My family vacationed at Beach Place Condo (unit#102) it was great! The unit was very clean and modern. The location is perfect we did not have to use our car all week everything you need is right across the street.

Rented unit #404 direct from owner for week of 4th of July. What a disappointment. Although condo was large and airy the carpets in the rooms were disgusting and the bathrooms, especially the toilets, looked like they hadn't been properly cleaned in years. Kitchen looked like it had been remodeled and was well stocked with supplies. Beach access is good as is access to John's Pass Village which is directly across the street.
And now for the best part: Unit directly faces Johns Pass bridge which is under construction. Better yet, master bedroom directly faces construction. This meant that from Monday - Friday I was awakened at 7am by the sounds of cranes, jackhammers, etc.
Sometimes the work was so intense the whole apt would shake!
BEWARE: Bridge construction will continue thru 2010. Owner never said a word about this nor did the rental office.
