We picked Sculley’s at random while spending an afternoon in John’s Pass in Madeira Beach. The weather turned overcast and chilly, and it wasn’t crowded. We had trouble finding someone to seat us, and subsequent service proved to be equally slow. Considering it sits on the upper level of the boardwalk, the windows are small and dark and do not afford a good view of the pass.

The food was OK, but unremarkable. The onion soup was lackluster. We both ordered bacon cheeseburgers for lunch, and they had a greasy taste. For a boardwalk establishment it was OK, but considering the tourist attraction of John’s Pass I expected more. With so many other dining choices, I’d try someplace else.

We have been vacationing with our friends and family in Madiera Beach, Fl. for over 18 year and we always eat at Sculley's Boardwalk Grille. We have always had great service and even better food. Well, not anymore, the service was terrible and they add the gratiuity in at 18% automatically. We always tip 20% but not for crappy service. We had to wait along time and then the food they brought my wife was the wrong order. The waitress had to read us the menu off a paper in her pocket. The bus boys were rude and took the food away before we were done, my son tried to tell them that we weren't done and a bus boys started staring at him and would not go away. We told are waitress an she laughed and said that none of them including the kitchen help speak English. It used to be a great place. Save your bucks and go to the Salt Rock Grille in Redington, Shores. It has great food, make a reservation or plan on a 45 minute wait, you won't be sorry. I knew something was wrong at Sculley's when there was no line outside. We ate the next night at the Tiki Hut next to Sculley's guess what same tip policy and they are owned by Sculley's. It to has gone by the wayside. Dirty with sticky tables and the restroom was something I would not let a dog loose in. We were so disappointed but not for long. There are so many other great places. On the boardwalk we went to the Friendly Fishman, not as fancy as Sculley's used to be but we had fast service the tip was left up to you and the food was great. I was so happy we tipped 30% and the waitress was so nice. Another great place is across the bridge in Treasure Island Ricky T's. Best crab legs my wife ever had and I agree, however, i had prime rib, again, great service, cozy atmosphere and terrific food a prices we couldn't believe. Ricky T was the guys name who owned it put he passed away. This looks like a place you would drive by but don't, if you do you will never no what you are missing. By the time we left they had live music outside, you could dance, listen and even talk and still hear yourself.

Our bill was $70 for 2 adults & one child. But the best is when the waiter lost our debit card after swiping for the bill! We were only offered two free drinks which we could not have, cause we were driving with a child in the vehicle! He gave us our parking pass back that was good for buy one get one drink but was good for that day only! It's going to cost us $10 for replacement fee of the card & we will not recieve it for 7-10 days. Talk about inconvenience!

Food was over priced and did not appear to be fresh caught like at other restaurants in the area. Service was very, very slow. We recommend Friendly Fisherman for sure over this place for eating at John's Pass.
