“Laidback leisure time at the beach”
Reviewed December 27, 2009

We found this hotel using Asda travel and what an excellent find! From the minute you check in the relaxed and laidback atmosphere hits you and reminds you that you have left the hussle and bussle of Orlando behind. Just what we needed after a week at Disney! The hotel is ideally situated right on the beach with a lovely restuarant / bar (Latitudes) across the road or the choice of various places at John's Pass no more that a 5 min stoll away. There is also a 7/11 on had for all your snacks and essentials.
We had a gulf view room which cost us around $20 a night more, it is worth it just to sit on your balcony and enjoy the beautiful sunset whilst sipping a cold beer, or waking up to a beautiful sunrise reflecting on the ocean. What I really liked was the 'basket' routine for stocking up your towels, coffee, toileteries etc - this allowed you to have a long lie without the fear of housekeeping intruding - An excellent idea, leave the wicker basket outside the room as you go to bed and the next morning you are re-stocked. The rooms are spacious, the kichenette adequate to prepare a light breakfast, the fridge being a bonus!
When we were there the pool heating was not working which made for a very fresh swim (it was October), the gulf felt warmer, apart from this we have no complaints from our time spent at this hotel. Would love to stay there again on our next visit to Florida. The staff were very discreet but always on hand should you need them, just the way things should be at the beach!

This was our second stay at the Barefoot. As we like boutique, out of the mainstream hotels, we were extremely pleased with the location, price, and amenities.

Lisa and the staff are great. Always helpful and will follow up in case of late arrival to give instructions on check in. Gas grills, nice kitchenette, flat screen tv and an awsome view of the beach. Secluded beach with white sand and very clean. Nice drive with Tampa International airport 30-40 minutes away.

We are looking forward to our next trip!!!!

Don't hesitate with staying at this location

Beautiful sunsets, stroll the beautiful sandy beach, swim in a very clean and nice pool, and walk to neat restaurants. Barfoot Beach Resort Hotel has it all. This was our third vist to Barefoot and we plan to go back again and again. The oceanview rooms are very clean and comfortable. I like how the room is set up. Kitchenette, bedroom and then a cute sitting room. We enjoyed our cocktails on our balcony overlooking the beautiful Gulf.
The staff is very helpful and very nice. Looking forward to our next visit!

My wife and I stayed in a gulf front room and were very pleased with how clean and nicely decorated the room was. It came complete with everything we needed for a comfortable stay including wine glasses! It was especially nice having a kitchenette that was fully equipped. We had an excellent view of the gulf and almost everyday we saw dolphins swimming just off shore. What an added bonus that was. The staff was very friendly and helpful and Aaron even printed our boarding passes for us the day before we left. We will definitely be going back.

Booked with Travel republic and got a very good price. Although confusing as seems to be another hotel with same name at Indian shores? came up as St petersburg on booking info - to be clear this is on Madeira Beach. In my opinion this is an ideal location it is only a few minutes walk to St Johns Pass, a lovely spot with great views, great bars and restaurants, ideally close - no need to drive, enjoy a few drinks and walk home. Lovely Thai restaurant across the road from hotel and also Bubba Gump for great seafood.

Lots of dolphin tours and fishing available, but apparantly no reasonable scuba diving (unless you have own tank and gear)

Fantastic beach - quiet, white sand, clean and beautiful sunsets to match. wished we had stayed in a room with sea view would advise seeing how much to upgrade.

Wonderful staff, beach towels provided free of charge. All you need in room and supermarket nearby (although cheap enough to eat out)

Great chill out after disney!

Went to Fort de soto - lovely National park, make sure you take a picnic.
Checked out clearwater too, again same great beach but much busier. again great harbour area for tours and fishing etc.
Did some shopping near Anna marie island - think was Pointe outlet.
Partner did fishing with Hubbards, he enjoyed, took the fish to Friendly Fisherman where they will cook to your test and with side dishes for only $5 each - bargain meal!
Fantastic.

When I first arrived, I wasn't sure about the hotel. I was looking for a place that had hotel amenities, such as, room service, daily maid service, restaurant on site, etc. I was shown to my room, offered a two bedroom suite and was pleasantly surprised. Our stay at the Barefoot Beach Hotel was absolutely awesome. The view was spectacular, the room was clean and newly renovated. We had a beautiful kitchen where we could have meals. The pool was great and the private beach outside our window was breathtaking. I was amazed at the sunsets, enchanted by the dolphins and in love with the entire setting. The hotel manager and staff were first class, especially Aaron, the manager and Evie who ran the office. I can't wait to go back again next year. Thanks for being such a great memory for my husband and I.

We have stayed here at Barefoot-Madeira for every birthday, anniversary, and fun-getaway we could manage. So far, it's been 4 times now since March of THIS year.

The check-in process is a breeze with all your questions answered and you are given a sheet of the FAQ's just in case you forget the answers.

With only 3 floors of pool and gulf front rooms, it remains quaint and homey. The beautiful balconies, updated kitchens and bathrooms, and comfortable beds are just a few of the amazing amenities.

Then you walk outside to find the private beach within a stone's throw of the elevator. The softest powder white sand you'll find will greet you. There are plenty of food establishments within walking distance. Just be sure to ask the front desk about them so they can set you on the right path... :-)

We come here all the way from Largo...which is only a 10-mile drive. Just to get-away. It is a gorgeous find with amazing people working there!!!
