Were not to happy with our stay.. it is like a villa.. no service but lovely people working front desk.
Labor day was just too busy and they had too many unruly kids... with parents who were worse....
NOT the Hotels fault... Over all very clean, and updated rooms. Queen bed was a bit small if your use
to King which was not a option... high priced time to go here...would not do another Holiday at this location.
You can walk to Johns Pass and that was nice. If you want a get away and just be at the beach, this is a good choice!

Room Tip: Try for a 4th floor as not to hear a/cs and water flushing! Our place was very noisy! BEACH was ve...

We arrived a hour early and the room was ready so they gave us the keys. Very friendly knowledgeable hotel staff. They informed us where was the good places to eat and what to do in the area. Within walking distance of John's Pass and also a 7 eleven. Not a long walk down to the beach which is good with a 5 year old. Pool was a little small and there was no Jacuzzi. I loved how you didn't hear any banging or toilets flushing while we were in the room. There was no housekeeping to come around, but if you did need towels, toilet paper etc. you could contact the front desk. All around very nice and enjoyable.

Room Tip: You definitely need to get the beachfront studio room. Overlooking the ocean with the balcony is the...

The view from our fourth floor beachfront studio was stunning!

The bed was large and comfy with good linen, looking out of the balcony doors onto the ocean. The crashing of the waves was nice and clear, and the sunsets were glorious.

The studio had a good bath room. Kitchen facilities are limited to sink, fridge, microwave and coffee maker, so only good enough for reheating. But nearby there are lots of excellent places to eat out.

This place does not look particularly inviting from the roadside. It’s painted bright blue and looks like a block house. The lifts, corridors and walkways are very spartan and not at all inviting, but this is a minor criticism. We don’t need somebody to make the bed for us, and as we are quite clean we didn’t miss the lack of room service at all. So I was quite pleased not to have to pay for something we would not have used anyway.

We used the place for three nights to relax and get over jet lag after flying in from the UK, so had booked through OnHotels, and made all the other arrangements by email. We arrived at about 7:45, after the office closes, but had asked for late key pick up, and the system worked perfectly. We parked our car in the lot underneath the building, and found the room. Storage for bags is small. To get the best rate we had paid in full when booking, so check out was easy.

The pool is small, but OK, it’s at the ‘front’ of the building away from the beach.

The beach is glorious soft sand, with good walks for miles in both directions. The water is warm and swimming good, even if I did get a toe nipped by a crab.

Just up the road, about a mile, in Treasure Island is a Publix supermarket for essential supplies. And all the facilities of John’s Pass and Madeira Beach. Our favourite place to eat nearby was the Conch Republic at Redington Beach. It’s an easy trip to the Florida Aquarium, the Sunshine Skyway and other tourist attractions.

Overall, for the price, this is an excellent place to stay.

Room Tip: Beach view is worth the extra money, higher floors better.

We stayed at Barefoot for 4 days in June 2013. We arrived early in the afternoon but our apartment was ready for check in. Cindy in the reception was very kind and serviceminded and gave us good advice where to eat and shop for groceries. The hotel itself isn't a fancy one and from the outside it looks a bit old and worn. We had a lovely small apartment that was perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids slept in a sofa bed. There was a small kitchen (no stove) with microwave oven, toaster, fridge, plates, glasses and silverware. There were also AC and WiFi. Our apartment had a balcony with a perfect view of the beach and the Gulf. There are sunbeds to rent on the beach and there are beach toys in a box by the parking lot if you didn't bring any. There is no cleaning though, you do that yourself and there was just a broom. The floors got so sandy all the time. When you needed fresh towels, soap etc you put the dirty towels in a basket and wrote on a special list to the staff. Then you will get new stuff during the day. All over we liked the hotel very much, it was calm and the perfect place to stay at when you just want to relax in the sun. The ocean was so warm and sometimes we used the little swimming pool to. We will be back. :)

My friend and I stayed in room 214, a 2 BD Beachfront for 5 nights. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros: Stone's throw from the ocean with a fantastic view. Clean rooms. Beds and furniture were comfortable. Right next to John's Pass Village (restaurants, shopping, activities).

Cons: Room 214 was always too warm. A/C didn't do the job. Had to keep drapes shut all the time or it cooked inside so you really couldn't enjoy the view. This is the only thing that would keep us from getting this particular room again. They wouldn't let us check in early even though there was no doubt that nobody was in the room immediately before us. So we waited 2 hours then they let us in.

Some people complain about not having housekeeping but that's what we prefer. You can always get clean towels, etc. at any time. We like not being bothered.

It's a decent place and we would come back, although we'd try a different room hoping for a room with adequate A/C.

Thank you for the kind words and review. I would like to first say that we try our best to get our guests in their rooms early if at all possible. Every room rental has a paid check in time of 3pm unless additional fees are paid to check in early. The room 214 that you checked into had a guest in the room the night before. It had to be cleaned before we could allow you to check in. The previous guest is not required to check out until 11am. After this time we can have the room cleaned. Please call ahead next time if you anticipate an early check in and we can verify the status of the room and try to arrange an early check in for you.

Secondly before typing this response I personally made sure the AC for the living area only was on. (Not the Master Bedroom)(This unit has 2 AC's) The curtains were drawn open. The AC was set to 77 degrees. After 5 trips to the room and staying in there for 15 min intervals while painting. I did not noticed any increased temperatures. At times I was actually chilled by the AC's air flow. If the sliding glass door is opened or the front door is opened multiple times it does draw the cold air out quickly as this time of year it is very hot outside.

We do hope you return to see us. We have recently upgraded the rooms with new sleeper sofas and the 2 Bedroom Beach Front Suites have nice new Smart Tv's and furniture!

See you soon!

Came to barefoot after being disappointed in another condo down the street. Aaron helped us with a great deal. He let us check out the room before booking. Rooms were clean, had a great view, and a good location. Pool was small and located in near the parking lot. Overall, it was a great stay! We would definitely stay here again!
