I've stayed at the Barefoot Beach Hotel a few times over the years.
It's always been very clean and neat as a pin. A very well kept property!
There are bigger places as well as smaller places, older and newer available in the immediate area but as always, you get what you pay for and this Hotel falls upper middle of the road as far as such accommodations go.

The staff has always been friendly and accommodating and the location is great for access to the general beach and St. Pete area.
It's a safe bet to book here.

This hotel is comparable to staying at a Country Inn and Suites, but with an amazing view and beautiful location. The people working at the hotel are all very friendly and helpful. One thing that is kind of odd is that the rooms with king size beds are all pool view rooms and the rooms that face the gulf only have queen size beds. My husband and I were hoping to have a kings size bed and a gulf view, but given the choices available we went with the gulf view room. The rooms are nice and the view is beautiful!! The bed is separated by a half wall so you can still see the TV from the bed although the view is at an angle. In the other part of the room there is a small table and a loveseat. I know they offer other types of room arrangements, but this is the one we had. Our room also had a refrigerator and microwave. Parking is right under the hotel and there is no additional charge for it. The pool was nice sized and clean - and also warm. Even though we were there in December, the pool was comfortable. Although the hotel doesn't provide beach chairs, you can rent them for $25 per day ($20 for multiple days). Another nice thing about this hotel is that you can walk just 2 blocks and you are at John's Pass which is a fun shopping area. You can also walk to Lisa's Cafe for breakfast, lunch or dinner, which is super convenient. We would definitely stay at Barefoot Beach again!

Room Tip: Choose the gulf view, it's the best!

Initial impression of hotel room was very good. Bed turned out to be uncomfortable and pillows even worse. Worse thing about the visit, however, was the way the hotel seemed to nickel and dime you for everything. Make sure you read fine print of any deals you get at this hotel. There are rebooking fees and a $25 cleaning fee. $25 cleaning fee and they don't even clean your room while you are staying there. You must ask for anything you need restocked.

My distaste for this hotel grew when my son came for the day and they charged an additional $10 for him to park. The parking lot wasn't even half full and they are charging extra. I would look somewhere else if you want to visit this area.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a beach view room not pool side. Extra cost is worth it.

We thank you for your review. We are glad you liked the property. We are very sorry that you did not read the fine print on the Groupon offer. Groupon has a section on the offer page that reads "Fine Print". We do encourage all guests or potential guests to read the "Fine Print" when purchasing a stay at our hotel or anything for this matter. There is 1 Free parking spot for each room reserved. Each additional parking space is $10 for the day. Parking is at a Premium on the beach and is regulated by the city at $1.00 per hr with no overnight parking allowed. We offer additional parking as convenience to our guests and their family and friends. The cleaning fee is not charged for Daily Housekeeping. It is an Exit Cleaning fee for after you depart the property. However we do offer a daily replenishment of amenities such as soaps, paper goods and linens/towels. Most of our guests do not want to be bothered while they are relaxing at the beach and have found that the majority of guests prefer their privacy. Thank you for staying with us and hope to offer you a great deal in the future.

Lovely room; large bed, well laid out living room. A nice flat screen TV to enjoy once the sun had gone down. Very helpful staff. Beach views from a private deck, close to John's Pass. We felt lucky to find Barefoot Beach.

My husband and I just returned from a week at the Barefoot Beach and have nothing but good things to say about the resort. The staff - helpful, friendly and obliging; the location - perfect. Restaurants, Winn Dixie & John's Pass nearby, so a car is not necessary. The pool was warm and the sand was like flour - beautiful. We would recommend renting a beach front unit - sunsets are amazing!

This is the third time I've stopped at the Barefoot Beach - usually on the way somewhere else, I must admit, but I always enjoy it there.

I also have to admit that if I hadn't made my first booking online, it's probably the sort of place I'd drive straight past - as it doesn't look overly inspiring from the road, but the beachfront view is fabulous.

The beachfront one-room suites are great and the little kitchenette area with fridge, microwave and cooking/eating utensils is most useful. The views from the balcony are lovely although it can be too hot to sit on during the day. Sunsets are usually spectacular.

Nice walking distance to St Johns Pass (either on the beach or on the road) - and a few restaurants and bars close by also.

Stayed at Barefoot Beach for one night. We decided to stay at Madeira Beach just for the one night because our timeshare reservation at Kissimmee was for the following day. We had a walk in rate which we were happy with because most of the other resorts were for a 3 night minimum stay. The lady at check in was very pleasant and helpful We did not have an ocean view but we overlooked the pool area. The room was very clean and spacious with a microwave, cooker, fridge and sink in kitchen area. A large comfy bed also a bed-settee. A flat screen TV. Pool towels were also provided. The hotel is on a lovely white sandy beach. It was in an excellent location within a five minute stroll to St Johns Pass with plenty of shops, restaurants, bars.

Room Tip: Try and get an ocean view room, but if none are available as was in our case then pool view is fine.
