Every now and then you find a place that cares about the food--the ingredients, the diners' experience--and really loves sharing a passion for food. Lisa's Cafe has this. You feel like you are a guest at Lisa's home, she is excited about her menu, and she cares whether you are enjoying every bit of your visit. The food--excellent. I went right at the end of breakfast hours and the chef made me an amazingly fluffy spinach and feta omelette with slices of Roma tomatoes. It's the little details foodies care about--really yellow eggs mean fresh, local, free range [lots of marigolds]; roma tomatoes with flavor! and the spinach and feta were folded in at the perfect moment-not overcooked-all brightly colored, and placed on the plate with care.
The coffee is freshly ground and tastes fresh, too.
My friends came at the lunch time and ordered some yummy items to consider: crab mac & cheese. [real crab-real cheese]. New England clam chowder. Now, this is Chow-duh. Really fresh and runny like those New Englanders remember--you can see the clams and other ingredients and it has flavor. Also, a reuben and a Bloody Mary that had the perfect 'bite' to it.
This is NOT a chain. This is a local business with someone who really loves the craft and good food. Enjoy yourself, enjoy a good meal, and feel like you are treating yourself on vacation even if you live locally.

When we arrived at Lisa's for lunch we were greeted by them telling us about how great all their food was. First off if it's on your menu, it should be great. Next, we were sat by the kitchen so we got to hear the staff bicker back and forth. It was obvious they all didn't get along. Lastly, they never left us alone to eat. They were constantly right by us asking questions about how there food tasted. However, I would say their food is excellant. Loved the crab mac and cheese! I would recommend it to others, just expect to be bombarded with them talking and asking questions the whole time you're eating.
