Owner description: The "Pass", as locals refer to it, was created by a hurricane on September 27, 1848. A pirate, John Levique, made the first passage through the newly created pass. Hence the name, Johns Pass. Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass, this quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village is Pinellas County's #1 tourist attraction. Over one hundred merchants inhabit the Village with unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, dolphin watching and shelling tours, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing.

We visit Johns Pass each time we visit the area. It is just a nice place to stroll, have a drink and watch people and the birds. There are some nice shops, and some pretty kitschy ones, but overall just a nice way to while away some time. And yes, you do have to pay to park, signs are very clear so just donate to the city and enjoy some time here.

Relaxing, chilled, calming and fantastic - don't miss out on this gem

I read the reviews and thought; this would be a great way to spend an afternoon.

It was lovely! There are so many shops which sell everything from souvenirs, to freshly made taffy, to homemade wines to T-shirts that change colour in the sun.

We really couldn't resist buying many Christmas Presents, as many of the products were unique (especially compared to the UK). There is a nice little dock to walk a long with lots of restaurants and bars, see some fish and apparently Dolphins have been spotted before.

We sat on one of the bars enjoyed our drink the lovely sun, then we went to one of the many restaurants for dinner looking out at the boats.

Well worth a visit for anyone. As mentioned you do have to pay for parking, but you seem to have to pay for parking everywhere along this coast line, not really an issue for us.

ENJOY! and remember you might need an extra case for home :-)

You can spend a whole day or evening here shopping and/or eating. The parking is centrally located in the village and easy access to everything there. Opens about 10:00am.

We absolutely loved this place, the beach is beautiful and a minute walk from the shops. All the staff we saw were friendly and very helpful as usual the views from the pier are gorgeous I would highly recommend a visit. There are lots of restaurants to choose from to eat :) You do have to pay for parking but I don't know anywhere (even here in the uk) that you don't really we found the multi story building for parking I think it was just $1.50 per hour which was nothing to complain about. The shops are great lots of quirky little things. We will definitely return and maybe spend a couple of days next time xxxxx

We have never been to Madeira Beach, Fl and decided to stop by John's Pass Village and Boardwalk. It was 8:00 pm and parked in a parking space. It does not say you have to pay to park unless you happen to notice the pay for parking box at the end of the street! We ate at Scully's and paid close to 100 dollars for dinner. We came out and had a 20 dollar parking ticket on our car. We then realized we had to pay for parking to eat and shop! REALLY!!! We spent 100 dollars and still had to pay for parking!! If you are going to visit this tourist trap BEWARE you have to pay for parking or you we get a ticket. Just by reading some of the other reviews this is a big money maker for the City. You have to pay within 15 days or it will be 30 dollars!! Checks only!! There are plenty of other places to eat and shop in this area that do not charge for parking.
