Owner description: The "Pass", as locals refer to it, was created by a hurricane on September 27, 1848. A pirate, John Levique, made the first passage through the newly created pass. Hence the name, Johns Pass. Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass, this quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village is Pinellas County's #1 tourist attraction. Over one hundred merchants inhabit the Village with unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, dolphin watching and shelling tours, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing.

There are all kinds of shops and food places in John's Pass. Meyer's House of Sweets...some awesome candy in there. The Alligator attraction is a Must!! Great shops with clothes and gifts to take home.

“Good Fun”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

Great place to walk around and enjoy the day. This was our second visit and we really enjoy all the little shops and being close to the water and watching all the boats, people fishing and wildlife.

Have to mention the cigar shop that hand rolls cigars, Cuban Paradise Cigar & Cafe is great place for a fantastic Cuban style cigar.

“Excellent Evening Pastime”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

A great way to spend the evening (also a day destination but if it is hot, go in the evening. Lots of restaurants and pub type spots, shopping (mostly touristy). Walking the boardwalk is an opportunity to see the fishermen come in from their catch, watch the pelicans and other birds, and see the dolphins (while sitting at an outside restaurant). During the day is the time to book activities, as most are not open in the evening.

Nice afternoon walk and lunch. Night time fun also. Try one of the many festivals happening in Johns Pass.
