This review is for Hubbard's customer service only, as the sunset cruise was cancelled abruptly. We had phone registered for the cruise and were asked for our phone number in case it had to be cancelled; apparently they would call if that was the case. We arrived at the marina 1/2 hour before scheduled departure time and were told that the cruise may be cancelled as not enough people were signed up. After waiting almost 20 minutes I went to the desk (inside the gift shop) and inquired as to the cruise status. They said that the it was cancelled as there had been a few showers....but actually it wasn't/hadn't been raining in that area. I asked when they were planning to come over to the waiting area and let people know about the cancellation, and the Hubbard's staff person told me that "people would find out when they came to pay for their tickets." No regard at all for clients' time being wasted. Last time in the area, we took a sunset cruise with another company and next time will book with the other company again. Hubbard's must be doing well enough financially that they don't have to be concerned with customer service.

Worth the time and money. Must go on a day when Smokey is on deck. He definitely works hard to make sure you have a positive and fish producing trip!!!

I have had many excellent experiences with Hubbards Marina for Sunset Tours, Dolphin Tours, and Fishing tours but the trip to Egmont Key at Fort DeSoto State Park should be avoided. First of all, $20 per person is too much money for a 10 minute boat ride. The tours from John's Pass don't cost that much and they are 1+ hour excursions. In addition, the captian of the boat was rude before and during the ride back and forth to the island.

The two deckhands, Dusty and Smokey, were awesome. We had a great time and caught a bunch of fish. We even got a bonus and saw dolphins on the way back to the dock. They cleaned the fish for us and we got to eat them at the restaurant upstairs for lunch. It was a great time and we will definitely be back!!! PS-if you end up on the boat with those two guys, ask Smokey about his fishing technique, he helped me catch 5 fish in 6 casts!!!

Great boat ride and a few different dolphin sittings, along with birds sanctuary. Very informative narration by our Captain about the history and the building of some of the inlets.
