Great to see! We saw the "drive thru" part in about an hour and 10 minutes. Not busy today for some reason.
We also did the walk through which was pretty cool. That took about an hour. We didn't have children so the amusement park didn't apply to us. Many more animals of the same breed than I expected. Only 2 lions, but then again, it's gotta cost them a bundle to feed them! All in all certainly worth a visit. Try to get some discount coupons b-4 you go! We went in the middle of the week and there was no crowd!

Such a great experience! The animals were all very close to the car and all pretty active. Great opportunity for good pictures! Then once you go into the inside park it’s HUGE! So many things to do, great if you have kids! Many different kinds of animals to look at. Definitely worth the money, such a great experience!

We can feel the excitement through your writing and we're so glad you enjoyed your visit so much! There is enough to do that at least 4-5 hours should be set aside for a visit, and we're happy that you got your money's worth during your safari adventure. Hopefully we can host you again in the future!

Luckily, my family and I live somewhat close to Lion Country Safari, so we are able to experience it as often as we are able to. My wife and I took our 18 month old first thing (9:30) Sunday morning and the reduced traffic at that time really was a bonus for us. We were able to take our time driving through the safari without battling long lines of traffic. There were even fewer people in the walk through portion of the zoo, although it was beginning to get more crowded as we left, around 11:30 a.m. This is a consistent, local destination for family fun for all. Make sure to have $3 to feed the giraffes, and if you purchase tickets online you can get free parking.

Thank you so much for being frequent visitors and for the positive review! It is always advisable to try to arrive as early as possible in the day to avoid the lines and crowds that come with the afternoon hours. Annual passes are great for guests that visit three or more times for the year, so we hope you can consider the benefits that come with these passes. If there is any feedback that would help us get that fifth star, feel free to email guestservices@lioncountrysafari.com for further discussion! Thanks again!

We took the children to Lion Country Safari several times. We all love it. You stay in your car and drive through the park where you can see a wide variety of African animals, seemingly without enclosures.Rhinos, giraffes and, of course lions seem to be roaming freely. We have noticed that when we go when it is cooler, the lions are more lively. So, even if it is raining, you can go, and the lions will be out rather than lying in the shade. After the drive through, you park the car and go into the rest of the park. There are reptiles, a petting zoo, paddle boats, animal shows, and a little water park. Kids love it, but so do the parents. Totally worth it.

What an awesome review! You did a fantastic job of painting a picture for future guests to imagine their visit. Our 1,000+ animals have over 300 acres to roam freely, and they represent almost 100 different species from around the world. There is no shortage of activities for families to enjoy once they enter Safari World, and we recommend guests set aside 4-5 hours to enjoy the entire park. Guests always have the option to drive through more than once during their visits, and we're glad you pointed out the heightened activity in cooler temperatures. Thanks for the great feedback, and we hope to see you again soon!

This is a really nice half day adventure for the whole family. The drive thru safari is awesome but you will have some wait time as the animals have the right of way. You are not pushed to rush through as you can always pull to the side and let others pass while you capture the perfect picture. The kids loved all taking pictures. Then you can park and go in as well. They also offer camping on site in what I believe is a KOA.

Thanks for detailing your recent visit to the park! Guests should plan to spend at least 4-5 hours here to fully enjoy the park without having to rush. Driving through alone takes most guests 1-1.5 hours! We're glad to hear that your young photography enthusiasts had fun snapping photos of our residents, and we think you might be interested in a guided Photo Tour in the future. Our award-winning KOA also offers another way to make a visit to the park extra special, and we hope to see you all again soon!

This was an awesome experience seeing all the animals right next to you. There was no crowd the day we went, which made it even better. This is a must do!

Thanks for the awesome feedback! Weekdays are generally the quietest in the park, so guests looking to avoid crowds can plan for a visit any Monday-Friday. Our park has ample accommodations for all of our weekend guests as well, with parking, wait times, and traffic being of least concern. We hope to see you again soon!

My nine year old son and I visited Lion Country Safari for the first time yesterday. We live about an hour away, so I was a bit wary of the drive. However, it was absolutely worth every bit of the drive!!!! Before I go into details, my son said no less than three time, "this has been an amazing day!"....for a nine year old boy...is there a better review?!? ;-)

First, for those saying it's too expensive--check out the website for discount coupons. I was able to print off a coupon for $8 off per ticket making what I feel is a totally worth it price, even more affordable.

The drive-through portion was wonderful! SOOOO many animals! They were so close to the car--it was breathtaking to see rhinos so close that you could see details in their face! Definitely make sure you either use the complimentary CD or download the app to listen to the info about the animals as you drive through.

The park itself was super! Even more animals to see! We went to an animal encounter show that was so fun--again, my 9 year old laughed and had a good time! We loved the paddle boats that enabled you to paddle right up to the flamingos, Fed the goats lettuce, and had the best time in the Budgie cage with all the birds! We got to watch an employee feed the porcupines and she answered a few questions for us. And one of our absolute favorite experiences of the day was the giraffe encounter! Soooo many giraffes and soooo close!! We fed them lettuce and they were right in front of you! Hearing my son laugh and seeing the thrill on his face was 100% worth it! We planned it so we were at the giraffe area during the giraffe training time and got to watch the training session. Amazing to see the love and care this place takes with all the animals. I never once felt like I saw animals that were mistreated or didn't have enough space.

Finally, we ended the day with some time in the splash zone to cool off. My son loved the slides and used up the last of his energy going up and down the two water slides which he said were "epic". They had plenty of seats right by the slides so parents could sit in the shade and watch!

We ate in the main restaurant for lunch and each had a make it on the spot sandwich. My son had a grilled ham and cheese and I had a BLT--both were delicious and very fresh. All the employees we came across were super friendly and even at the end of the day when everyone was trying to close up, one employee let us run into the gift shop to buy a quick bottle of water and even chatted with my son for a few minutes about the animals we saw.

I can't say enough positive things about this place--it's worth the drive, worth the money, and we will most definitely be back!!!!!

From start to finish, it sounds like you had exactly the kind of day that we strive to provide here on safari! We know how much that sort of praise from a 9-year-old means, and we appreciate all the time you took to detail your visit. With over 1,000 animals to see, guests are guaranteed to be entertained by our residents. Our attractions are varied enough to provide fun for all age groups, and we're glad that our friendly staff made a great day even better. It is our pleasure to host all of our amazing guests, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

We arrived with only 3 hours til close and were extremely rushed and didn't get to everything. If we had arrived first thing and had the full day I feel the price would have been justified as there truly is a ton to do.

We have been here several times and it is an ‘okay’ time. It’s decent, but recently the prices are outrageous and there is no way I would pay what they are asking. I just thought about taking my 3 yo son and for the 2 of us it would be $35 for me + $26 for my 3year old + $8 parking. $69 for the 2 of us?!?!! To look at sad depressed animals? No way, that is nuts. The visit is worth maybe $20 total.

Wish we could have stayed longer. We weren't sure what to expect. We were delighted to find the drive through park and CD informative. You could see the animals really well. They we're relatively active for us. The large cape buffalo was within a few feet of our car and was a little intimidating to be honest. The zoo portion of the park was incredible. We even got to feed a giraffe. It was a lot of fun. Lots to do with the kids. The gift shops are reasonable and food not too bad.

Will be back.

Thanks for all the great feedback! Education is one of our core components, so we're glad you got to learn a lot during your visit. The best times to see active animals are in the morning and late afternoon when it isn't quite as hot as midday. We hope to see you again soon for a longer visit, and thanks again for the review!
