Wekiva Island is the Phoenix rising from the ashes of the old Wekiva fish camp that burned down several years ago. Great family fun, pet friendly, great place to get into the swim in the river or canoe and enjoy all of Florida's natural wonders. Rent day pavilions for your family picnic. Beach volleyball courts on site. Food is available and there is a full open air bar.

Cool place to hang out for all ages during the day. Take the kids home before sunset as it turns into a big party spot. Canoeing up to the springs is fun and easy. The other trip to rock springs is much further at 8 miles. Get there early because everything fills up fast. You will definitely see gators and bring bug spray. If you want to experience natural Florida this is a great place to do so.

Rented a canoe. Brought lunch & some libation. Off we went on the Wekiva River. Had a great time. Once back on land we headed for the bar area. Lots of friendly people & good drinks. I would go back1

Younger crowd. Great place to go and swim, canoe, drink, hang out and enjoy the Florida weather. Not many kids, but fun for kids.

This is a funky, fun place to hang out after kayaking or canoeing the gorgeous river. The local brew called Wekiva River Water is excellent and the food truck is run by a restaurant chef and serves delicious, reasonably priced, and imaginative food.
