Location and proximity to the beach was great. The minuses were that the pool was often dirty with dead bugs. Also would be nice if unit had a screen door. Other units did. The condo had everything you would need. Extra beach towel would have been appreciated.
We stayed at this unit for two weeks and found it an ideal place to stay overlooking the Gulf of Mexico on Longboat Key. The studio unit is cozy, but did not feel cramped with two people and the price is reasonable. The patio on the ground floor unit overlooking the heated pool was a great place for coffee and newspaper in the mornings and a heron even came by to visit a couple of times.
It is a quiet, safe, clean place with a good Murphy bed and firm mattress and a comfortable sofa. There aren't many dishes and the dining table is small, but they were fine for us. The bathroom is small with a good shower. The A/C blows strongly and the unit cools noticeably when it comes on. Finally, the lady in the office at the building is very helpful and friendly. It's a short walk to the beach which is good for hunting shells, and beach chairs and umbrellas are readily available for use. There's also an outdoor grill available (which we didn't use) and a couple of tables with umbrella shading in the common area. Wi-Fi reception was very good, though it was down a couple of times.
The building, which has only 15 units, is on an uncrowded stretch of Gulf of Mexico Drive, a pleasant 0.8 mile walk to a convenience store and a short drive to several good restaurants. The owner communicated well with us and answered questions promptly. In sum, my wife and I were very happy to stay here for two weeks and would have no hesitation coming back again.
