I've been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years and have never had a bad meal there. During Easter vacation, we had an early reservation which enabled me to take advantage of their early dining specials. Not only was their wonderful salad bar included in the price, but the prime rib that I ordered was the perfect size, leaving me room to share a piece of their incredible lava cake. I can't wait for our next trip to Longboat Key in July to revisit this old favorite. As always, the view is magnificent, the service is top notch, and the food is absolutely delicious.

We treated our American family to a meal here at the end of our Easter holiday - and it was a real treat for all 6 of us. Great setting overlooking the water and a well decorated, comfortable interior. Service was good, attentive and friendly but not overbearing. We all ordered different entrees and everyone enthused about the quality of their dishes. I had the surf and turf and the scallops were the best I've ever had. My wife had the salmon - her regular choice when we dine out - and again couldn't remember a better one. The bill for 6 adults (with several cocktails including the best strawberry daiquiri my wife's ever had) came in just under $400 and we'll happily go again next time we visit the family in Florida

Unbelievably bad experience- no return for anything in the future based on bad faith advertising! Disappointing to the max! They advertise a wonderful happy hour but don't deliver on any front. If you go, the reserved spaces for happy hour are a dingy bar behind a glass barrier or the bitter end of the outdoor deck--a choice of no view or extremely limited view of any water (their attractiveness)! Then to add insult to injury, their happy hour martinis-an advertised special-are 3 martinis, each containing 1 oz of aristocrat vodka and other lessor flavored Liquors. To get a "real" martini you have to order your brand and u get 3 oz. Duh! Then a Apps: did I mention disappointing? Smallest portions on the planet and this area is Happy Hour heaven- so calamari w tempura peppers was 1p or less pieces with half being tentacles and 20 pieces of peppers.

We had a group of 6 adults and 2 children under the age of 4 so we wanted to make sure we had a reservation. WE were all pleasantly surprised! The waitress was fabulous. The two grands were catered to. Loved the salad bar that was included with our early bird dinners. Tons of food. Have never seen such an amazing salad bar. This was our first visit but will NOT be our last. We actually told some friends that were down here to make sure they get there to try during early bird. Thank you Chart House for an amazing evening.
