Sun 'n Sea is the perfect getaway for rest and relaxation at the beach! I just happened upon the place by driving by and was pleasantly surprised by the clean and quiet accommodations and friendly service of the office staff. I stayed in unit #12, an efficiency studio, which had at-home comforts, like a comfortable queen bed and clean linens, flat panel television, a comfy recliner and fully appointed small kitchen area. The grounds are immaculate and just beautiful, especially the private beach and local water fowl (birds, cranes, etc.) that visit the area. I particularly appreciated that they are located off the main street, which makes the units very quiet. The onsite laundry facility was also nice and convenient.

The only downside is that there is no pool or spa, but they make up for it with great hospitality and comfort, as well as a spectacular private beach that is easy to waste the day away walking, swimming or simply lounging in a chair.

I wish that I could visit Sun 'n Sea every day and can't wait for my next trip to Longboat Key!

I am a 5 year resident of Florida and quickly became disenchanted with large hotel chains. I now search for older, smaller, inns and cottages. This was a great find and having the large oak trees tower over the ENTIRE property was great. The cottage was nicely updated, great mattress, clean and very beachy!! Great price and value for my hard earned dollar. We stayed in # 4 and was very happy and will return again. Also they gave a GREAT recommendation for dinner, The Dry Dock. Best seafood I have had since leaving the Northwest and Alaska!!

I traveled recently with my family (husband, toddler and baby). This was absolutely amazing. Relaxing, clean and the beach is right in front of the cottage, Of course, the cottage itself is nothing spectacular, but it worked for us. It was a clean, good beds, and a kitchen. Owners were great. Very considerate and made sure our needs were met. The most important thing to us was to have a great view and be safe for the kids. We will definitely come again. I've stayed at quite a few, overpriced places at Longboat key and have also been unsatisfied. This definitely will be "our place" for a while.

We stayed at Sun N' Sea for four nights in April and loved it. It is really quiet and close to the beach. The cottages are comfortable and clean but nothing spectacular. It is definately not a four or five star resort. Although I've gotten spoiled by staying in beautiful all-inclusive resorts, this was a relaxing change. The cottage we stayed in was a two bedroom duplex with one bathroom and a kitchen. It fit four adults and two small children without a problem. It was a short walk to the beautiful beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The beach is clean and the hotel has chairs and kids toys available. It is definately a do-it-yourself hotel but I didn't mind that. The grounds were quiet at night and very safe. A perfect place for my small children. There are several restaurants within driving distance and a grocery store about two miles away. I would definately recommend having a vehicle at your disposal. St. Armand Circle is a short drive and a lot of fun. I definately recommend the Columbian restaurant. Awesome and not that expensive. We didn't do much other than sit on the beach and hang out but it was a very relaxing time. I look forward to next year.

This was just awsome luck.... My son and his family go there every year and invited my husband and myself..We decided to go last minute but wanted a place of our own. My son talked to Jan and she had and eff. available so I called and booked it.. We were right across from the beautiful place they stayed in. We were able to cook and eat as a family and not have to deal with reasturants so we could spend more time on the beach, (where chairs are also provided.). and sit and have coffee on the screened in porch..I have done the beach thing for 30 years plus and this is honestly the best. This is truely a place that you are treated like family. My grandchildren played with all the children staying at the homes and had a great time..(All you need is your clothes) ......Doris Hannah
