“THE Place to eat on Longboat Key, Florida”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2014 via mobile

This was our first visit to Longboat Key and Dry Dock Waterfront Grill. I am so glad that I had checked out the reviews in advance. As we were driving along, I saw the sign and remembered that Dry Dock was on our "To Do" list. It is a little hard to find. We almost turned around and left because we couldn't find the restaurant. After you pull in, take the first left, and drive around the building that turns out to be the Dry Dock boat storage. Follow the gravel as far as you can go....the restaurant is the only thing between you and Sarasota Bay. It was a beautiful day, and we were early. We were seated next to the bay, under the umbrellas. Our waitress Kate was friendly and helped us with our selection. We had grilled grouper sandwich, spinach salad with red snapper, and key lime pie. We would do it again....delicious! Our entertainment were the charter fishing boats pulling up to dock, 10' away. By the time we finished, the place was packed, both inside and out. Don't miss this 'hidden' gem.

“Spendy, but delicious”

Stopped at the Dry Dock with a large group and left satisfied. The sea food was top notch. My lobster tacos were outstanding. I would also recommend the fried calamari. No complaints from anyone in our large, picky group.

“Great view, great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2014

We went here on a Sunday afternoon, and they opened at 4PM. We did not have to wait. It has scenic views and patio seatings which is great! We ate our food while watching boats go by. Also there were some huge fish by the docks! The food was delicious. I had grouper tacos, and my husband had a hamburger. Reasonably priced, $10-20. Their chips and salsa were delicious! I was craving them the rest of the trip! Great atmosphere. Will definitely come back!

We had a good meal and this restaurant is close to the hotel. It is small however and we did have to wait.

“Tranquil setting, great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2014

What could be better than dinner on the terrace overlooking Sarasota Bay? The pelicans on the water provided the entertainment while we enjoyed a delicious dinner. Grouper was blackened to perfection; shrimp tacos with cilantro were delicious. Dinner always tastes better when we eat outside on the water!
