“Overrated”

We've been to the Dry Dock many times, mostly for lunch and off season. We've loved the salad/grilled fish entrees. Sitting outside on the deck (in spite of the smell) was always nice. Watching the pelicans, herons and osprey do their thing is special. Meeting friends on Saturday 3/22 was a much anticipated event. Realizing that it was "in season" and likely crowded, we arranged to meet at 6:00 for dinner. We showed at 5:40 and were told that it would be an hour wait for a table outside. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink. The bartender took our order and proceeded to serve several patrons who walked up to the bar after us, before serving us. Not a huge deal, but aggravating nonetheless. The place was packed. Our friends were very late, showing at 6:20 but it didn't matter because our beeper was still blinking green. Finally, our beeper went off and after settling our $40.00 bar bill, we proceeded to our table. The service was great but I must say that the food was mediocre. I had grilled scallops and shrimp with yellow rice and "the vegetable" which was asparagus. While not bad, the scallops and shrimp were not worth their $26.00 price tag. Served with an ice cream scoop of rice and a sparse serving of sauteed asparagus, I was not impressed. I could tell that my friends, who were here for the first time, were not impressed either. My wife and friend had the grouper, which is their signature dish. It was fine but not great. Overall, I was disappointed. Might go back for lunch but, not for dinner. Overrated!

“Delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014

We were referred by a local and did not know that there would be such a long wait, but went into the bar and got a high top table and the server offered serve us dinner there, we were happy to eat in the bar, so no wait.

The food was really delicious (as was the martini), I don't know if it was because it was unexpected or if I was in the mood or if it was just really, really good but every bit of our dinner was delicious. I ordered a simple dinner, seafood chowder and lobster rolls and they were excellent. My husband had the fish and chips and said it was some of the best he had ever had.

It was not sitting outside weather but the bar atmosphere was OK. We enjoyed it so much we went back 2 days later and had another great meal.

“Beautiful view, wonderful service, delicious lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2014

Reserving well ahead, we were seated by the edge of the water and thoroughly enjoyed our delicious lunch. Service was prompt with polite staff. The restaurant was not crowded with tables,so this allowed for quiet conversation. Great menu choice! Definitely, we will return! M

“Excellent meal, great vista!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2014

Had a great meal here this past Sunday. Warned about the long wait time but it wasn't bad - made better by lovely table by the water, watching the water fowl and dolphins! Grouper was as good as promised (I had the grouper tacos - yum!) and key lime pie is a must!! Overall great experience. Only thing that could have been better is complimentary WiFi for patrons. Great opportunity to have people uploading pics, etc from this ideal location!

“Perfect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2014 via mobile

Arrived at 7:30 to a packed house. We were told a 90 minute wait and went to the bar. The bartender asked us if we wanted to eat at the bar and we did. We both had grouper sandwiches , one fried and one grilled, and the fish camp stew. Both were excellent. Service also excellent.
