We've been to the Dry Dock many times, mostly for lunch and off season. We've loved the salad/grilled fish entrees. Sitting outside on the deck (in spite of the smell) was always nice. Watching the pelicans, herons and osprey do their thing is special. Meeting friends on Saturday 3/22 was a much anticipated event. Realizing that it was "in season" and likely crowded, we arranged to meet at 6:00 for dinner. We showed at 5:40 and were told that it would be an hour wait for a table outside. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink. The bartender took our order and proceeded to serve several patrons who walked up to the bar after us, before serving us. Not a huge deal, but aggravating nonetheless. The place was packed. Our friends were very late, showing at 6:20 but it didn't matter because our beeper was still blinking green. Finally, our beeper went off and after settling our $40.00 bar bill, we proceeded to our table. The service was great but I must say that the food was mediocre. I had grilled scallops and shrimp with yellow rice and "the vegetable" which was asparagus. While not bad, the scallops and shrimp were not worth their $26.00 price tag. Served with an ice cream scoop of rice and a sparse serving of sauteed asparagus, I was not impressed. I could tell that my friends, who were here for the first time, were not impressed either. My wife and friend had the grouper, which is their signature dish. It was fine but not great. Overall, I was disappointed. Might go back for lunch but, not for dinner. Overrated!
