“Great Resort”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

Our first stay at Sand Cay will not be our last. We made reservation for next year before we left. The condo units are well designed and the onsite management is very helpful. A complete resort with pool, tennis court, a very nice beach with lounge chairs, free high speed internet and free laundry. We were on the second level and the partially covered patio had all day sun. Unit 205 was well equipped and comfortable for 2 to 6 people with two bedrooms and two full baths as well as pull out couches. Unlike most condo resorts Sand Cay is very flexible on dates and length of stay so you can take advantage of midweek airfares as long as units are available. A good choice for couples and families. Between Publix and Harry's Deli we ate most meals in the condo, but there are good restaurants within a short drive.

Lovely, lovely condo resort on the gulf. The grounds are clean and well kept. Our two bedroom/two bath unit had all the amenities we needed. The kitchen was equipped with all cooking and eating utensils and had a great view of the gulf. We ate almost all meals in our unit. Diningroom was nice and had a great view, as did our balcony. Master kingsize pillowtop bed was very comfortable and quiet with ensuite full bath. Second bedroom had twin beds with bathroom down the hall. Livingroom was good sized and had large flat screen TV with many channels. Both bedrooms also had TVs. Wifi was used and appreciated very much. It worked well. The salt water swimming pool was heated and very clean and nice. St Paddys Day pool party was very fun! Office staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you! Nia on the beach was a great treat, as I do yoga on a regular basis, and I was pleasantly surprised to attend this class on the beach facing the Gulf of Mexico. That is not something I could do at home! It is nice to have the beach chairs ready to use on the beach and they are plentiful, along with the beach towels in our unit. We also had some beach supplies in our condo's storage/utility room. The beautiful white, sandy beach frames gorgeous sunsets daily. One of my favorite outings was walking the beach barefoot daily. The beach is lovely for miles and miles. Free parking and assigned parking spot was a plus! I did not want to leave this place, and I would definitely stay here again! Relaxation at its best!

What a nice resort and a great condo! Condo # 117 at Sand Cay had an amazing view of the Gulf of Mexico. The beach was beautiful with white sand and only steps away from the unit. We watched the sunset from the paving brick patio almost every night. The sunsets were amazing! Condo, #117 had a washer and dryer in the unit which is not the case for 2nd and 3rd floor condos which must use the laundry facility near the pool. Our condo was decorated tastefully with nice furniture and ample dishes, utensils, and other amenities in the kitchen. We even had martini and champagne glasses! The condo had comfortable pillow top beds, flat screen TV’s in each bedroom, a wall safe, and a huge flat screen TV in the family room. All Sand Cay condos are individually owned which means the inside of every condo is decorated differently. The resort pool was warm, had plenty of lounge chairs, beach towels, and had nice pool bathrooms. The office staff was very helpful. This was one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever taken. Next time we come, we will pack lightly because the condo and resort had everything we needed.

Room Tip: #117 was the closest condo to the beach at the resort. What an amazing view!

We went on November 2012 during Thanksgiving time. It was a little chilly there. The unit 103 has a nice layout and great view. Unit is on the corner, very private and ocean front. We brought two kids and my mother in law. It was very clean beach and great for kids. This resort provides beach toys. The pool is nice and warm enough. I would recommend this resort to who wants laid back family vacation.

We stayed at Sand Cay in unit 306 which was a beautiful unit and decorated extremely nice.
It had a great view of the Gulf from the deck as well as the livingroom picture window. It was
a very roomy and comfortable unit that made you feel at home. The beach in front of the unit was very large with lots of lounge chairs (bring a cushon they are plastic chairs) and offered
a great sunset. Terry, the front desk mgr. was very friendly and helpful. We would like to
come back again for a great vacation.

We stayed at Sand Cay Beach resort unit #117 from October 20 - 27th with one other couple (no kids). This is the second year in a row we have stayed here. If you can rent this unit, you will be in for a treat as it is in a perfect location and very nicely appointed. This time of year the resort is very quit so this is a wonderful time to relax. The ocean and pool water temperature was nice, refreshing but not too cold. The ocean is 100% sand when you get past some the shells by the shore. Bring your fishing equipment as you can catch many fish wading out into the ocean. We saw a manatee and several dolphins. We also used the BBQ pits 3 different times to cook burgers, steaks and chicken which was very convenient. We used the washer and dryer a few times which was a plus. The unit had several flat screens which made it nice to watch TV in the evenings. We also used the sand chairs, beach towels cooler and umbrella provide in the room for most of the trip either on our beach or at Siesta Key Beach. The only thing to note is that the local grocery store Publix was still under construction and it was very hard to find a liquor store. We will come back again for SURE!!!!

Room Tip: Room #117 that is the closest too and faces the ocean would be my choice!!!!

We visited as a 3 generation family and rented 2 units. There were activities for everyone within the resort as well as much to do and see in the greater community. We had a great time! There was so much to do at the resort, and we also explored the aqarium and museums in Sarasota. The local free bus allowed various family members to do their own thing if they didn't want to join the crowd. A terrific value!

Room Tip: The grandparents stayed in a beachfront unit on the ground floor with an exquisite view. My mother w...
