“Worst pizza ever!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

We ordered mama's pizza at this restaurant for a carry out this week. Never had a pizza quite like this one. We were sorely disappointed with this flavorless pizza that had no sauce and virtually no cheese , never saw anything like it before. The anti-pasta salad was good but we were so looking forward to a delicious Italian pizza and this was a huge disappointment. When we picked the pizza up the restaurant appeared to be overtaken and we had to wait a very long time for them to give us our order. It is very disorganized for carry out and you end up having to stand amongst all the people who are trying to have dinner. We will not be going back here.

“Small but worthwhile...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Loved this restaurant! Three of us had a short wait on a Sunday evening, but it was worth it - the pasta tasted hand-made and the service was excellent, despite the crowd. Portions were large. Pizza is brick-oven baked and delicious. Meatballs were a bit soft but great tasting. I had chicken with a creamy lemon caper sauce and it was fantastic. Will certainly plan on eating here on our next trip to Longboat Key.

“Honest Italian food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013

We have been many times to Ciao's over the years and find it a warm, friendly and honest Italian restaurant ; none of the fancy, expensive dishes with lashings of sauce to cover up cheap ingredients but homely, simple Italian fare. This is a place where you are made to feel welcome and at home, where the food is consistent and the prices very reasonable. Just make sure you get there early as they don't take reservations and can be very busy.
