“A fantastic, lovely restaurant”
Reviewed February 15, 2011

We found Pattigeorge during a week stay on Longboat Key and it was fantastic. The setting is lovely and the service outstanding. The food is inventive and equal to the best I have ever had. Prices are a but higher than other area restaurants, but well worth it. The Grouper with Thai green curry sauce was outstanding, If you go, be sure and try the hashed Brussels sprouts. This dish will make a Brussels sprout lover out of you. They have a great wine selection and wonderful bay view table. Finally, waitstaff is absolutely was great!

“This used to be my favorite restaurant”
Reviewed February 7, 2011

This is a little late, but it still seems applicable. Actually we ate there February 15th, our 24th anniversary and now I am looking for ideas for this year. Maybe it is because they were worn out from Valentine's Day the night before, but there was no excuse for wrong table, poor service, so-so food. Too bad because it used to be so great.

“Excellent food and service!”
Reviewed January 29, 2011

We took my parents here for their 50th wedding anniversary dinner. We all loved it. The food was not your typical grilled or fried seafood. It was seasoned with spices such as green curry, Thia spices, etc....It was very different. We all ordered different entries and loved everything that we ordered. They had a great wine selection and mixed drinks. We had a wonderful bay view table. Our waiter was great! This is not the kind of place that you would find popcorn shrimp on the menu :) Personally, I wouldn't take children here, unless they were older. It is an intimate, candle lit place. The prices were around $30 a plate. We thought this was a fair price for the quality of food. Again, we thought this place was great!

Sadly, the only thing on the menu that changes is the date. It's been this way for years.
Furthermore, the 'Chef' really ought to be aware that Paella Valencia, does not contain fish or shellfish. Less attention to pricing and more attention to real dishes may get the place out of the Colony syndrome. That failed too.

“Flavorful food, plentiful portions”
Reviewed November 4, 2009

We thorougly enjoyed our dinner here.

We had the best service in this restaurant in a long time. The waiter was knowledgeble and attentive. The food was excellent. Very flavorful. My husband had the pad thai. We've had padthai all over America. Eventhough, the restaurant uses fettuccini noodle, it is still very good. Just a perfect combination of heat, tang and sweetness in the dish. I had the deep fried lobster tail with wasabi mash potatoes and brocolli rabe. The potatoes and rabe was not the original sides that comes with this dish. I asked for this substitution and it was given to me without any hesitation. It was to die for.

This restaurant does not have a children's menu per se'. But they will make anything for your little one. We decided to get grilled chicken for our child. It came with 2 sides. We chose grilled asparagus and rice. Her meal costed $13, which is pretty steep for a child's meal. But portion was plentiful. It came with 2 full breasts. I tried it. It is hands down the BEST grilled chicken I've ever tasted. EVER. Perfectly cooked and not chard and full of flavor but not overwhelming to a child's taste bud. She loved it. She's pretty picky.

I can't wait to eat here again!!!

Other restaurant recommendations include MarVista and Tommy Bahama (even though they pulled the best thing on their menu - Shrimp Grilled Cheese) in Longboat and Sand Bar in AnnaMaria Island. MarVista and SandBar is 2 of the 3 Chiles Restaurant Group restaurant. The Beach House is the 3rd. Nice view, but can not recommend it because food is average.
