My wife and I scheduled a visit to Little Palm Island for a romantic dinner. The boat that shuttled us over to the island was clean and convenient. We arrived at the dock of the island and were ushered directly to the indoor/outdoor restaurant. We chose to eat outside, under the palms and tiki lamps. Key deer wandered around on the beach, just a few yards from our table. The meal was wonderful, my wife had fish and I had a filet. The wait staff was very attentive to every need and very pleasant. We decided to take dessert in the gazebo next to the piano player. The concierge ushered us around the island for a brief tour, he was very accommodating. He ushered us back to the waiting ferry to complete a fabulous trip.

The hostess was a horribly rude to myself and my wife... And I over heard her talking to other staff members how we were " such a-holes." Not professional at all. We didn't pay over $800 dollars a night to be treated like crap by the hostess!

While it's not cheap, the brunch at Little Palm Island is an incredibly worthwhile experience. Think of it as an entire day's entertainment. We arrived early for our 12:30 ferry, and sat outside on a peaceful veranda awaiting the boat that took us to the Island. Once there, we feasted on a delicious brunch, featuring an all-you-eat buffet of cold antipasti, cheese, baked goods, fruit and shellfish, along with a self-service champagne and bloody Mary bar. For the entrees, we were present with a good-sized menu (about ten entrees), and ordered as many of the sample-sized portions we liked. While the cornflake crusted French toast was a bit too cornflake crusted for my taste, the steak was delicious and the cheddar quiche was particularly good. For dessert, a sampling of four treats - key lime pie (of course), chocolate cake, churros and ice cream and flan, were brought to the table to share.

The best part of the brunch service, and something I wish I'd known before we went, is that after you're done eating, you're allowed to stay on the island (albeit only in a certain area) until the last boat, which is at 4. We spent an hour and a half relaxing on plush lounge chairs overlooking the ocean before boarding the boat and heading back to the Keys.

We go to the keys often and each visit like to do something new. This trip we had lunch at Little Palm Island. The resort is on its own island so lunch starts with a lovely boat ride over to the island. Lunch was served on the outside covered patio. Great food, excellent service - a perfect getaway lunch! Lunch total cost was $100 - lunch entrees are $25 - $30.

Overall great experience - the whole event, ie getting there, atmosphere, service were exceptional. We were seated outside basically within reaching distance of the water. Nowhere will you find anything like this. Our only issue was that the portions were a little small considering what you pay. We left a little hungry. Still, this is definitely a worthy and memorable dining experience.
