We were enticed to try Le Bistro since it was offering a $35.00 menu through the Fort Lauderdale Dine Out program in October and November. We were informed that the restaurant will continue this special menu throughout the season. Bee pollen crusted goat cheese with endive stood out as an appetizer and our favorite entree was a shellfish dish with lobster, shrimp, mussels and capellini in a creamy sauce. The service was very good and we would not hesitate to return to this restaurant.

We met another couple there to sample their Dine Out Ft. Lauderale menu. Everyone agreed it was quite amazing. What made this different than other participating restaurants were the number of choices offered. There had to be at least six choices for appetizer and entree. My wife ordered the pimentos de padron, which although not quite what we have had in Galicia, they were absolutely delicious. They are small little peppers sautéed in olive oil sprinkled with sea salt. They're addictive and we just kept popping them. I had the tuna ceviche which I thoroughly enjoyed. After the salad course, both wives had the seafood indulgence and the men both had the fish of the day, which was cod in a mushroom sauce served with fingerling potatoes. The only thing I can say is that all conversation ceased while everyone devoured their meals. The cod was amazing and the mushroom sauce was loaded with wild mushrooms. The seafood indulgence was served over a capellini. It was in a very light cream sauce and contained
Shrimp, mussels and lobster. Once again dessert had many choices. My wife enjoyed the apple tart with ice cream, while I had the cheese plate featuring Brie and grapes. This was all off their $35 prix fixed menu and the waiter mentioned that they may extend it passed the Dine Out period. We certainly hope so!

We were invited to join friends for dinner at Le Bistro on July 14th which is Bastille Day. This was supposed to be a special birthday celebration for a family member whose birthday is on July 14. When our hosts made the reservation they were told that because it was a french holiday the restaurant was sold out and there would only be a pre fixe menu that evening. Our host was told to make sure we were not late or we would lose our table. We were excited that we would spend the Bastille Day birthday in such a festive atmosphere. When we arrived on time at 8PM the place was virtually empty; we thought the party hadn't yet really started but alas it never happened at all. The food was good albeit not particularly French inspired on this particular evening. The service was quite uneven however and at the end of the meal the chef actually came to our table to ask our host if we had been dissatisfied with our meal because the tip was too low. Is this any way to run a restaurant? Misleading and embarrasing your customers...we won't be back.

Whether we're in the mood for tapas at their new bar or a full meal with table service we head over to Le Bistro for consistently great food at affordable prices. If you are lucky their mushroom soup will be on the menu the night you are there. There's usually a $35 prix fixed menu which changes frequently. The wine list is affordable with numerous choices. Just a great place to dine.

I'll admit that I'm a huge Gordon Ramsay fan,and since I won't be going to LA, NYC or London any time soon, I figured dining here would be a close runner up. This restaurant was featured on "Kitchen Nightmares," and though many of the places that have been featured have since closed, this one has not and with very good reason. (As of this writing, only 13 of the first 37 restaurants featured are still open)

For a starter we chose the tapas plate, which our server said was at the whim of the chef. OK, I'm game for something like that, but all of the items were just ok. Warmer temperature for each would have made them better.

For dinner my wife chose a filet with grilled shrimp and I chose a veal dish. Both were fantastic, very flavorful and well worth the drive from Ft. Laud (where we were spending the weekend) up to PB. Chef really did himself proud with the veal; it was awesome.

For dessert we chose some chocolate thing that didn't impress us too much, but after the great dinner, we were kind of stuffed.

There were only two other couples in the restaurant when we left and I just don't get why. Our experience was far from spectacular (hence the four dots rating), but the chef does have some excellent things going on in the kitchen.
