Stayed here as a couple for 7.5 days in a studio with kitchenette.
This place is not fancy .The beds were not comfortable but doable. we did see some ants coming thru the outlet in the kitchen, but it is a tropical climate.
If you’re looking for an updated fancy place with glam, bars/ restaurants on premises, dishwasher, laundry in room, etc, this is not the place for you.

This is what Breakaway Inn has to offer:
The well equipped kitchen has all you need including pans, plates, utensils, glassware, a fridge, stove/oven, microwave and a coffee maker,

In room : closet, plenty of hangers, iron and board, hair dryer. Med. to small T.v., Free WiFi. Housekeeping provided every other day. Comfortable wall unit a/c. Plenty dresser space. Rooms very clean.

Location: The Best! Playground area provided by park district, across the street. Cross street and walk two blocks east to El Prado Park with beach access, Farmers market on Sunday mornings. Anglin’s 100ft. Walkable Pier with restaurant.
Restaurants, bars,Walgreens also two blocks east on commercial Drive.
Walk two blocks north on poinciana st. For a Publix supermarket and a dollar store for food items, paper towels, etc.

The owners, Margarette and Andrew are phenomenal. They live on premises and are available to happily assist you.
We lost our keys, not card keys, and they were very patient and accommodating. They worked with us on our early and late departure needs.
The grounds are small but well maintained, pool clean and easily accessible, very quiet at night.
Will def. return in the future!

Lauderdale-by-the-sea feel like an area time forgot- in a good way. It feels very “old Florida.” I came to South Florida on business, traveling between Palm Beach County and South Miami. The location is perfect for a single traveler. It is very safe and located within walking distance to grocery, convince stores, and restaurants. The Inn is also very safe, with the manager living on premise. The rooms are adequate and clean. My second floor unit had a full kitchen and reliable WiFi. Decoration is sparse, but again, feels very much like Florida used to feel. My only complaint would be the bed. The mattress cover (plastic), the matress (firm), and the blanket (thin and polyester), were difficult to get used to. However, for the price, location, and lovely grounds, I think Breakaway Inn is a great choice.

Thank you for being our guests and for your review.
We are happy you enjoyed your stay.
Your sleep quality is very important to us. When choosing mattress protection covers, we looked for softness and protection. We use Easy Care 360 encasement because of its soft fabric and protective lining. Most of our mattresses are firm since that is what majority of our guests prefers. All our bed covers are at least 50 % cotton to provide quality look/feel with frequent washing and sanitation.

This was the perfect place to stay in Lauderdale by the sea. its in a mainly residential area with a church and community center just across the street, its quiet and relaxing but within easy walking distance of all the nightlife restaurants and shops in the area and on the loop for free shuttle hopper bus that picked up just down the street.

There,s a pool , two Barbecues for guests to use and plenty of grassy areas for sunbathing with tables and chairs etc.,
Internet was excellent, we could stream live TV from home on a laptop without buffering . There was a full kitchen in our room and table and chairs just outside.

Cant recommend this place highly enough

I booked my stay on Hotwire, assured mainly by the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Margaret and William are the in-house hosts and fellow guests are a convivial, out-going, and sociable lot comprised largely of Midwestern and Canadian snowbirds who come here for weeks, even months at a time. In this light, one should be forewarned that short-term stays are not encouraged here during the high season. One-or two-night stay guests would find themselves inconvenienced as these are mainly housekeeping accommodations. Inotherwords, bring your own soap, shampoo, dishwashing detergent, etc. Luckily, any provisions you might need are easily located at a nearby Publix Market (a few blocks away) and the variety of nearby, walk-to restaurants is astonishing. However, rest assured that the full kitchens are fully stocked to a fare-thee-well.

This is a charming red tiled roof 1950s-era property and, as such, forewarned is forearmed. You are properly advised of any plumbing issues that could arise and William is "Johnny-on-the-Spot" to quickly attend to any difficulties that might arise. Margaret is also quick to the rescue is there's a problem (my smoke alarm went off one morning for no apparent reason). This handsomely landscaped site has a small pool, a lovely grassy area for sunbathing and picnicking at umbrella shaded tables complemented by two gas grills. As a hefty guy myself, I would add that the outdoor plastic furniture is VERY sturdy indeed. There's also a nicely situated second floor sunroof.

This is no cookie-cutter lodging, so I can only reference my own room and not others of various sizes and accommodation levels. My room was basically all-white with a white tiled floor. I was on the front ground floor corner (two big windows), but found it to be extremely quiet. The tiled floor might prove slippery on some occasions. The bathroom was VERY small with a one-man step-in shower. Happily, there was a left over bar of soap left there for my use. The medicine cabinet and mirror was perpendicular to the sink (one looked at a frosted window) so shaving, combing one's hair or, in the case of ladies, applying make-up could be tricky maneuvers. Hot water was quick and abundant.

Complementing my king-sized bed (I paid extra for that ground-floor feature wishing to avoid the stairs) were flanking 2-drawer bedside bureaus, a large 5 drawer bureau (pulled out from the wall to accommodate TV wiring) and a 2-door closet unit. There were also 2 very solid and comfortable faux leather chairs flanking a small marble-topped serving table. Beside lamps were of the "Target" variety and did not have sockets in their bases nor were there any accessible ones near the bed itself. Luckily, I travel with a long extension cord to plug in my C-Pap machine. There is a very efficient multi-speed ceiling fan with light. The TV was a Grade B brand with poor sound quality (voices sounded muffled or adenoidal) and required two remotes to operate. That isn't stipulated in the room guide, but William and Margaret quickly came to apologize and give me a tutorial, techno-klutz that I am!

Bedding and linens were certainly adequate and housekeeping (not daily) was thorough to the max. WiFi connection is easy and dependable The beach is an easy few blocks walk and there is a small city park across the street with a playground, tennis, and basketball courts. Bear in mind that parking is VERY limited here - essentially one spot per room (if that). If you have guests visiting you for drinks or dinner, they may be to park some distance away. Permit parking is the norm in this residential neighborhood and cars can and will be booted (with a $65 removal fee). Other than that, settle in for a delightful, carefree, and affordable stay!

Thank you for being our guest and for your review.
My husband Andrew and I,are very happy you enjoyed your stay at Breakaway Inn.
We live on the property, so it is our home as much as our business.
As it was pointed out, our place is a boutique accommodating and so our rooms are all with different feel.
However, the basic amenities remain the same for all rooms. There is always soap for the kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom soap, unlike, usually in hotels, is not a small bar but, regular, large bar, each in its original box and provided for visitors staying for any length of time.
All our guests are important to us and their needs addressed on individual bases.
Parking is provided for our guests. Since we do not have parking space for visitors,we recommend, day parking at nearby bank for $ 5 a day.
