Blackened mahi mahi sandwich. I'd swear that the fishing boat anchors off the beach, pitches the fish to the kitchen (still alive) and then they cook it minutes later. Adding the perfect spices, serving it with the perfect dressing. A tad pricey for a fish sandwich, but you won't regret it--pieces appeared to be nearly a half pound on each sandwich...and we had 4 sandwiches in 3 days!

My wife and I have eaten here twice in four years, and always find this open air cafe to be not only excellent in drink menu, and repast choices, but to have a fun, beach bar atmosphere. We ate here on a Friday lunch, and the place was hopping. Wait staff is excellent, Food is fresh and gourmet quality. A great place!

"Intimate" and "quiet" are two words that will never be associated with Aruba. Think of Grand Central Station at rush hour. That's Aruba. It is large, busy, noisy, frenetic. It's mass production dining.

We must have been rendered invisible by the Star-Trek cloaking device when were seated because we were ignored by two or three servers at a station in plain view of our table just a few yards away. My wife eventually got up and corralled one. He came took our beverage and food orders, delivered our beers to the table, and that's the last we saw of him.

Our order of burgers -- arising out of a need to keep things simple and straightforward -- turned out to be a mistake on several levels. We ordered them medium for safety's sake. Mine was closer to raw. The food was brought to the table by a person other than the server (whom we never heard from again). We asked for ketchup and got a brusque response and a glare, apparently for the extra effort that required. We could do nothing about the undercooked burger because our server was strenuously avoiding eye contact as he bustled between other tables. And besides, at some point asking something to be sent back ruins the entire meal anyway.

Eventually a person who seemed to higher up the chain of management stopped by the table. He asked if everything was to our satisfaction, to which we replied, No. He asked what was wrong, we explained. He offered to make up for it by delivering another two beers on the house (as if that would make it all OK). We declined; my half-eaten undercooked burger was starting to make me sick. We just asked for a check.

After conferring with the other servers, the management person explained that there had been a mix-up of table assignments. We shrugged. We were not appeased. He said the beers we ordered with the meal would be free. OK. Fine. At least they tried. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

If you like dining in the ambiance of the trading floor at the New York Stock Exchange on a busy trading day, you'll love Aruba.

Waiting to pick up a friend at FLL, I wandered across a gem of a restaurant just minutes from the airport. Great food, great views of the ocean, indoor and outdoor seating, live steel drum musician at mid-day on Thursday. It doesn't get much better than this. And Jesse behind the bar added to the whole experience. Don't mis this one!
