Villa Aqualina
Reviewed February 27, 2013

Villa Aqualina is a typical beach town motel. It is by no means a boutique hotel. It is well cared for and the owners are friendly and helpful. There is a pool, a barbecue and there is an outside freezer with the owners supplying frozen treats, ice and water. We stayed in room 0 (the Palm room) which is your standard motel room. It is probably just this room but the mattress was on of the worst I've ever TRIED to sleep on. The TV is on a table at the side of the bed making it impossible for 2 people lying in bed to watch it.
Overall it is a good motel, within walking distance of the beach (very nice), restaurants and shopping. It's okay if a motel is what you want.

Room Tip: Stay away from room # 0!

Is this little Inn in Lauderdale by the sea. I just spent the night there because I took a cooking class nearby and didn't want to drive after it (wine was offered !). The place is on a big street but I couldnt hear any traffic as this is somewhat away enough from the more frequented area. To the beach is a 3 minute walk. My room was on the ground floor and very, very clean. The pool is small but clean again and the recepionist (owner ?) was extremely friendly and helpful. There is a nice flatscreen in your room with cable tv and free wifi. The only downside was that there was no aircondition, so I would avoid the place in the summer. The village itself is nothing special - just full of winterbirds over 60 !!!

Dear Christian! Thank you for your feedback. We will definitely want you back during summer time, and for that I want to assure you that we have air conditioners in EVERY room: upstairs - central and on ground floor - wall units. All ACs are brand new. In Florida air conditioners are not luxury, they are necessity even in winter time!
You stayed in Palm room (#0). In this room air conditioner is under the window behind the sheer curtain. If I can have your e-mail address, I will send you its photos from inside and outside.

Take care! And come back! In summer there are no snowbirds and you can try diving - our town was named a diving capital of US.

The Inn was very good and clean. The pool was adequate, I am fussy on cleanliness and it could have been a bit cleaner. The rooms were spacious and the sitting area outside the room was nice. I slept on a futon in the living room and it was OK, better than many others that I have stayed on or pull out couches.

Villa Aqualina was an interesting choice for us. This is not really a hotel, but a good furnished apartment. There was no telephone in the room, no way to contact the desk or to receive calls. Like most people we have celll phones, but we are from Canada and roaming fees are very expensive. The bathroom was clean but equipped with the old fashion very thin soap that melted as soon as it touched water. We had to buy soap, shampoo, and conditioner for the room. Our living room faces a brick wall and our bedroom faced the brightly lit swimming pool. With no black out curtains our bedroom was very sunny all night long!

The owner-manager was very friendly and accommodating, but this is not what one would expect when the title contains the word - hotel.

Room Tip: choose a room on the second floor facing the pool.

Will recommended to all our friends and family. Will be back next year! Ideal and equipped for family. So clean, just renovated. Speaks several languages, european background which makes it so homy!
One of the very important criteria, one traffic light away from drugstore, food store and restaurants.
2 min walking distance to the beach. Don't have to pay for parking space.
Best accommodation for Christmas and New Year Holiday at Aruba restaurant right on the beach on Commercial blvd.

Peter and I stayed at Villa Agualina for 4 nights on 2 separate stays. We were made to feel so welcome by Lana and she acomodated every need that we had for comfort and that home like feeling.
The pool is beautiful, the rooms are very clean and newly remodeled and the setting is one block away from the beautiful beaches. There is a long walk out pier very close by that offers great views of the ocean and the fisherman's catch of the day.The restaurants in the area are great as well. I
We will return to this beautiful motel anytime we are in the area.

This lovely little hotel was a great find. Recommended to us by the Tourist Info Office. My 3 sisters and niece had 3 very comfortable days here. Great location for the beach, shops and little bars. Enjoyed a swim in the lovely heated pool. The proprieters were so helpful and kind. Will visit again at some point.
