“Are you kidding me . . . Billy Goat Gruff???”

Anglins Fishing Pier
Reviewed January 12, 2014

Just cruising around the area checking everything out on our first stay in Lauderdale by the Sea and happened upon the pier. As we walked up the ramp to enter the small bldg. restaurant/bar leading to the pier we were abruptly notified by some local billy goat gruff man that it cost $2.00 to go further! Never experienced that on any pier we've ever walked out on! No thanks, just don't appreciate being nickeled and dimed.

Lovely pier to walk along and watch the people fishing, the surfers, the sunset, the pelicans... They do charge a $2 fee for everyone as you enter. Very nice time with my husband and kid in his stroller.

We enjoyed the pier and the restaurant on it. There was a lot of construction going on that is now complete so there is an easier access. Parking was free to accommodate all the city work but there is probably a fee for it now. The Anglins Fishing Pier had a minimal fee to go out on and is worth the visit. There are plenty of restaurants, patios and shops right there for you and your family to enjoy.

A great fishing and sightseeing pier. Locals and tourists alike can enjoy the wonders of the seas. Fishers pay $7 and spectators pay $2 for any amount of time they care to spend. I had the best time fishing in a long time casting, watching, learning and fishing. Ha. Restaurants and shops are nearby and it's quite a destination.

I was gifted a groupon-dinner at Anglins and brought my snow bird friend... a French restauranteur in many ways. We had the Vegetarian pizza... yummy and the Greek salad was pretty good too. The Rum fruit punch of some sort was ok, certainly not worth the price. The gentleman playing-singing Caribbean music was very good.. one man band that sounds like a full band! The desert 'baklava' was saturated in cinnamon and served very hot? Since when is baklava served steamy hot and cinnamon poured over it? We shared our surprise with waitress... she kindly gave us a pass onto the pier. Yes, I too saw the grumpy old troll, but he ignored us.
