We were very encouraged by the reviews we read about BVR before leaving for our trip to LBTS. There's no question that it lived up to the hype! Traveling with small children (3 1/2 years and 19 months) can be fun but also challenging--many aspects of the BVR allowed us to have much more fun than stress. With a spacious one-bedroom apartment we were able to really spread out, not to mention put our little guys to bed at their early bedtime and then sit outside by the pool to enjoy a bottle of wine and some takeout from Village Sushi (accompanied by the baby monitor, of course!). Everything was spotlessly clean, just as other reviews emphasized.

All of the employees are fantastic. Everyone is incredibly friendly and attentive. At one point I walked to the office to ask for a spare blanket, and upon returning to my room 45 seconds later, a staff member was standing at the door, blanket in hand! They threw a lovely little cocktail party for all guests one night, which was a nice way to chat with other guests. We were amazed by the non-stop efforts of every member of the staff to clean, fix, and spruce up all aspects of the resort, from servicing rooms to painting walls to replacing fixtures with only the most minimal speck of dirt. They just never stop working to make the place better!

The BVR's location is also wonderful. While many places claim to be "steps to the beach," the fact that our 3 year old could walk with us to the beach in about 2-3 minutes attests to how close BVR really is. The entrance to the public beach is RIGHT across the road. It was also wonderful to be able to walk down to the Village Grille and Pump, as well as a few other fun spots in what constitutes the "center of town" of tiny LBTS. There's also a cool roof deck that our boys enjoyed. They were thrilled to eat dinner up there one night, despite some high winds! There was even a nice playground a few blocks away.

No place is perfect, and I personally appreciate glowing TripAdvisor reviews that include the bad with the good. There's not much bad to note about BVR, but we did have an issue with the shower--it alternated psychotically from hot or warm to freezing cold. This may have been due to our location next to two washing machines (they were going all the time due to the staff's nonstop cleaning of guests' linens!). Also, while giving our boys baths we noticed that the water was an odd yellow color--our older son was kind of freaked out by it. We didn't mention these things during our stay, as it seemed like something that would not be easily remedied (although knowing the BVR staff, they probably would have replaced the plumbing while we were out at the beach!). There's not much else to complain about--the BVR is pretty much just as good as it sounds in these reviews!

We were so grateful to the staff, and many of the fellow guests, for being so warm and welcoming to us and our little boys. Enjoy your trip!!

We just spent two nights here after a cruise... It was so peaceful. There is wonderful beach access, chairs to borrow for the beach, great perks at the Village pump (excellent food!), clean, comfortable rooms, towels and lotions by the pool, fresh coffee in the am, lemon water all afternoon, easy walking to grocery store, dunkin donuts, Walgreens and lots of fun local bars and restaurants - and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Other guests were also very friendly. Great family like atmosphere. We will definitely plan a return visit!

What a wonderful, quaint, adorable and pleasant hotel experience! We stayed at BVR for several nights while attending a family wedding. Rooms are newly decorated with a blend of east coast cottage and beach style. So cute, clean and a home away from home - not a boring standard hotel room. Staff is so friendly and accomodating and the connection with the Village Pump Restaurant is a plus!

Room Tip: So many choices in room accomodations.

We (family of two kids 9,12) just returned from a brilliant march break vacation at the BVR. After years of staying at a neighboring hotel we stumbled across this hotel online and can now, not say enough about it. This gem of a place is neatly tucked away, somewhat out of view from AIA, the main drag and nestled along side a quiet El Mar drive that borders the wonderful beach. Location, location, location! We walked everywhere from the nearby grocer to the Village Pump, to the many watering holes/restaurants and beach stores that were literally blocks away. Not requiring much to entertain our kids aside from a beach and a pool, we were set with the BVR as our home base. We took full advantage of the beach chairs and found ourselves enjoying the two kayaks and planning on snorkeling! I can't say enough about the small things that add up to a huge joy at this place. We were greeted by wonderful staff who not only chatted you up but reached out regularly to get you anything, everything you might need. You felt embraced and almost family like. Our two bedroom room was nicely appointed with all our kitchen needs as we tended to barbecue a lot poolside and did so with the kind help of James who always made sure I was well situated, utensils, propane always full. The morning coffee and afternoon lemon water that was always on hand by the pool was a nice touch. I was further impressed by a Tuesday evening sunset social they hosted. While imbibing and enjoying hors d'oeuvres, Lilianna (a wonderful staff member!) snapped photos of guests which magically appeared framed in our rooms when we returned afterward! What a wonderful, simple but happy keepsake! The week was nicely capped with a Saturday morning surprise when a small family business (two daughters) delivered cupcakes for each guest in our room. This is a regular treat started by the two young entrepreneurs! There really is nothing but praise to heap on the BVR. between friendly, engaging, back bending staff to the absolute high standard of cleanliness and spa like feel of the canopied poolside lounge, this place is a gem to be shared! And admittedly with so much praise the booking for rooms requires advance planning which is not always so easy for families with school schedules but we are already looking toward to next March break! And finally, yes, the BVR is a work in progress with ongoing wifi updates and some exterior decorating and hopefully the rooftop will become a swanky lounge area as well to balance out the El Mar side of the resort but for us there is really nothing we needed that they couldn't and didn't already provide.

Room Tip: The El Mar side of the resort has the two bedroom suites and hopefully the El mar poolside and roof top will become more spa like with canopies etc!

Stayed at Beachside last year and couldn't wait to return. This year was better than last year, if that is possible. Place is wonderful and the owner and personnel are the best. So clean and comfortable. We love it and can't wait to go back. Thank you to all at Beachside Village for another memorable year with all of you.
