“Nothing to write home about”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

The decor is very nice, which gave us a good first impression. I was surprised by the high prices. For example a beef pho is $9.50. We normally pay around $$6.00 at Pho 16. The chicken salad, with the shredded cabbage was a bit tasteless. Having been to Vietnam a couple of times, I have an idea on what authentic Vietnamese food tastes like. I was with someone from Vietnam and she agreed. We will return, but I would not go out of my way, to recommend it.

the soups are very good and so is the service. We had the Pho and the spring rolls, everything was fresh and delicious.

“Great food, great prices”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

LOVED the food here. Very good pho and good value on the food. Really enjoy the lettuce-wrapped Imperial rolls, and the chicken curry was delicious - great sauce. Also very good rice noodle dishes. Will return.

“Vietnamese compromise!”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

The ambiance is very nice and the service is good, but the items on the menu have been Americanized to the point of losing much of what makes Vietnamese cooking stand out among other cuisines, and the higher prices don't warrant a second look.

Even our server said the chef has changed many of the dishes because some of their patrons don't like certain spices and/or herbs. For example: We were dissapointed with the Summer Rolls that only had lettuce in them (no mint, no carrot, no radish, etc.), and we were less than moved by the bland Duck Soup that lacked any real flavor like you would expect of the traditional Pho dishes. Being born in Vietnam and raised very traditional Vietnamese, my girlfriend said she would not return. We hightly recommend "Saigon Cuisine" in Margate, FL if you are looking for the real deal, and all at a great value!

“Don't be scared away just because it's Vietnamese!”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

I am a very picky eater and recently just move to the Lauderdale By The Sea area.. I pass this place all the time and finally decided to take a chance and try this place... It has become my favorite!! The food is amazing and the portions are huge! Service was great and it is such a cute little place. Their fried rice is great, soups are amazing, and the shake beef, phenomenal! Definitely get in there as soon as possible and try some of this delicious food, it is worth it ;)
