“Great for families!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2008

I paid only $45 per night for this hotel which was normally $125 a night. It is the 3 star hotel found on hotwire. The rooms are all either with 1 king bed or 2 double beds with a pull out couch. There is a 42 flat screen in each room. The lobby is pretty modern and has a bar. The breakfast is great with fruit, bagels, and cereal. The pool is small but is great for young children since it is 30 inches deep in the shallow end and 5 feet deep in the deep end. It is within walking distance to the Lakeland Center. It has free wifi and also 2 free computers with free printing. We changed our room since we could hear the elevator running all night.

  • Liked — The modern amenities
  • Disliked — The half wall between the bedroom and pull out couch.

One of the most beautiful hotel rooms of this class I have seen. Wonderful use of space and refreshing decor with huge flat screen TV, sofabed, fridge, and desk. Very comfortable bed and plush linens. Downside was rather limited buffet breakfast. Extra items like danish, and even cream cheese for the bagels and jelly were available for purchase at the frontdesk/food bar. Avoid the prepackaged, dry sandwiches at the food bar and order something hot. It's a great concept, but most other continental breakfast buffets these days have more options. Pool was not cleaned during the two days we stayed.

I spent three nights in this hotel while attending a conference in Lake Alfred. I thought the layout of the ground floor was appealing, almost giving a feeling like staying with a friend or relative. The front desk area is rather small in size compared to the spacious room and the ready-made food selections and the beer/wine bar are adjacent to it. The free computer area with 2 terminals is across from that as well the breakfast room. Free breakfast consisted of bagels, english muffins, instant oatmeal, a selection of cereals, fresh cut and whole fruit. There was decent orange juice and two kinds of milk and Starbucks coffee. The plates and coffee mugs were heavy and of good quality.
The room was spacious and divided partially by a wall. Giant 42" LG t.v. swiveled so as to be viewable from the sofa and/or bed area. There were not that many free channels, like 30, including a couple of HBO's. There was an ample selection of pay-per-view movies and games. There were free in-room single serve coffee packets and tea bags and a coffee-maker. There was also a mini-fridge and wet bar but no mini bar selections. The bathroom measured about 4 1/2 by 5 feet and seemed ample in size. The sink and vanity were separate from it. The room was stocked with Portico toiletries There was a hair dryer in a drawer.
The king size bed was stocked with several fluffy pillows. Although nice by some hotel standards it wasn't as comfortable to me as premium beds in other similarly priced hotels. The a/c unit in my room, #614, would turn off unexpectedly overnight.
The hotel is next to the Lakeland convention center. Parking is free but at a premium so they employ people to sit at the entrance and verity that not only do you have a parking pass but that it is still valid.
I got a great deal on this hotel through Priceline. I figured the place would be empty but was surprised to see upon arrival that they were full and turning people away.
I really doubt that the need will arise for me to need a hotel room in Lakeland again but I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Booked to rooms for a convention next door and the Lakeland Center. Great location and easy to get to places to eat. Nice clean rooms and great room layout. Would stay at a Hyatt Place again.

Hotel is newly remodeled. Very attractive lobby and friendly staff. Room was comfortable though it had the smallest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel. 42-inch screen TV rotates to view in the sitting area or the bedroom area. Coffee wetbar, refrigerator, desk, sectional sofa and suite style divided bedroom area. A few minor issues were resolved as soon as we bought them to the attention of housekeeping. Food available in the lobby, 24 hour small deli offering sandwiches/baked goods/drinks. Complimentary continental breakfast which was basic but did include delicious fresh fruit cup. Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) available in the lobby as well through a computerized ordering system. Though the choices were unique and the food delicious, be prepared for delays, we had to wait 35 minutes to get an order of eggs with just one other order in front of ours. All in all it was a pleasant experience despite the high price tag of $125 (AAA rate) a night.
