“Yipes!”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

There was a pizza on the counter that you can order slices from and one of the cooks was leaning over it with elbows on the counter and texting. His face was too close for comfort!
Also, their slices are pretty dry with little sauce. I give them credit for pizza if you order a whole one because they are very similar to pizza from the northeast, however, their antipasta salad is very inconsistent.
The front counter and waitstaff are very nice and friendly.
I wish this restaurant could do better but I think they're cutting corners.

“Unexpectedly Pleasant Place to Eat”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

From the outside this looks like a small take-out pizza place located in a small shopping center. However, we were looking for something different than the national chains, and a friend recommended this little Italian place. Inside, it has an unpretentious family atmosphere with friendly waitresses and a moderately-priced menu. The restaurant appears to be popular with locals. The group we were with had their take-out pizza the night before back at our hotel, and frankly my wife and I were not too crazy about it. At the restaurant, I had veal parmigiana while my wife ordered eggplant parmesan. While not exceptional, the food was certainly enjoyable and filling. The home-made cannollis, on the other hand, were outstanding! We'll definitely be returning on our next trip to Lakeland.

“Give Ciao Bella a try you won't be disappointed!!”
Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

This was my first Visit To Ciao Bella And we tried the pizza. I would equate it to New York style pizza the sauce and toppings were all very good! The staff was very friendly the atmosphere was pleasant. We will definitely be back to try some of the other Italian fares on the menu!

“Home made Italian food --- superior desserts!”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

This hidden gem in a Publix shopping strip mall was an amazing "find"! Apparently locals know about it and frequent it because many diners seemed to know the waitresses and their mother, who makes all the desserts herself. To tourists like us, the restaurant looks like a "take-out" pizza place from the outside. However, the menu went well beyond pizza and we ordered the Chicken Francese and the meat was very tender and the sauce very flavorful. Even the pasta tasted "homemade"....not like out of a box from the grocery store. With barely enough room to try a dessert, we readily consumed every crumb of the Nutella chocolate tart. It was outstanding! The "atmosphere" is that of a "Pizza Place" rather than a true restaurant but the food more than made up for it.
Service was excellent, even on a busy night and the waitresses "overlapped" to clear dishes, etc. They knew the menu and made suggestions to help us decide the portion sizes we ordered. Prices were very reasonable and the food and service were top-notch. It was really worth driving past the Cracker Barrel, Applebees, and other restaurants in the area to find Ciao Bella.
