This is a cookie cutter Hilton Garden Inn and that is meant as a compliment. It is brand new and quite large. We were there when the occupancy was very low. The people who work there are really great. The place was spotless. The fitness room is packed with new equipment.

The location is next to the airport. There is no airport noise. We did not see or hear a plane take off the entire time we were there. That should not be a factor in selecting against the location. It is in the middle of nowhere. Downtown Lakeland is very nice with great restaurants. The Terrace Hotel is right down there if location is important.

The three important things for me in a hotel are quiet, darkness and the bed. It is quiet and has blackout curtains in each room. The bed is very nice. It has a selector dial on the side to select firm or hard. There were no instructions with it. It seems like a memory foam pad with wool on top of it.

We had a one bedroom "suite". This is a long room with a fold out couch in one end and the bed in the other end near the window. It had a small refrigerator, coffeemaker and microwave. Very functional.

There is an option to get a two room suite but you have to call the hotel directly to get it. It has two bathrooms and a door between the two rooms. There were four of us and I would have rather had that if I had known about it.

This is a perfect hotel but we may stay downtown next time to be closer to restaurants.

Stayed here for 2 nights for business.

I was apprehensive about booking a hotel that was right beside an airport but was pleasantly suprised. I took all of the previous reviews into consideration before deciding on this property.

It is very conveniently located to the toll way/free way and just an exit or 2 from major chain restaurants such as Carrabba's, Chili's, etc. close to a strip mall.

However, location wise, there isn't too much that is close to the hotel on the same road except the gas station which is across the street and convenient for picking up snacks.

The property itself is clean and rather new. Lobby is tastefully appointed. There is a pool and hot tub just to the right of the check in counter outside. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Washroom was spacious and shower/water pressure was very good. I had room 302 which was a 1 bedroom suite that had a mini fridge, microwave and mini sink. 2 flat screen TVs (1 in living room and 1 in bedroom). Also a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom really came in handy after a long day at work.

The bed was one of those sleep number beds that had a dial hidden in the mattress where you could make it more or less firm. I played with it a few times and did not feel any difference.

Noise in the room was minimal. I had concerns about the airplanes as well as the air conditioner units that I could see just below my windows a couple of stories but was pleasantly suprised that I could not hear anything.

Wifi connection was very good. In the hallway I could see 2 wireless routers which contributed to the nice strong consistent signals.

Hotel staff was relatively friendly.

Breakfast is not included like the Hampton Inn chains, rather it is 9.99 for the buffet which includes made to order omelettes and the other breakfast basics (sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, fruit, continental stuff, etc). The first breakfast I had with the made to order omelette was really good however the 2nd day was another chef who really looked like he had slapped it all together with out care. Service on the 2nd day was a little lacking and we had to wait and wait before we could make an order as the chef would not take our order over the counter. Silly if you ask me. It wasn't busy at all.

Overall I was happy with my stay and would not hesitate to stay here again if in the area.

Beautiful hotel. Super service by friendly staff. Room was spacious, well appointed and comfortable. The bed was first quality. Great breakfast bar with very helpful staff, excellent chefs and dinner menu. Will stay there again for next years Top Gun Event. Highly recommend.

This hotel is gorgeous, inside and out. The bed was more comfortable than my own bed, the rooms were elegant, and the staff was very nice! There are many places to eat right down the road and many lakes to walk around. The airport next door is absolutely noise-free! I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I agree with everything the previous review said; our experience was similarly excellent. I would add that there is a nicely equipped fitness center with a bike, treadmill, elliptical, free weights, and even a kit that you can take to your room (has yoga gear, a medicine ball, strength bands, etc)

For us, this also made a great "base camp" for seeing the local Spring Training teams: Tigers, Mets, Yankees, Devil Rays, Phillies, etc. You can go online and see that the ballparks a a little spread out, so this was a great location.

Meanwhile, the hotel staff couldn't have been any more accomodating. Also worth mentioning is the great and reasonably priced food on-site. There is enough variety in the menu that a week's stay found us eating there most meals.

The breakfast buffet is much better than most; in addition to what's out (fresh fruit, yogurt, hot food), a cook will gladly make waffles, pancages, omelets, etc. Get the "B&B" rate that covers this, or pay 9.99 for the really nice buffet.

A nearby large mall also has tons of shopping, and several places to eat: Chilies, Mindy's, Mongolian Grill, and others.

This hotel does a lot of its business with conferences, and to families staying, those clients are invisible...so while the pool area isn't huge, there were very few people there on most days...another plus!

GREAT value, GREAT service, very good food.
