A highlight of Lakeland, Lake Morton has so many swans and other water fowl, the cars along the lake go slowly in case a Mama duck and her ducklings want to stroll across. Families will find this a most enchanting place.

The queen donated swans to Lakeland many years ago. You can see their ancestors today on lake Morton as well as other birds. I recommend scouting this place out prior to planning an outing. The picnic areas and get full very fast on the weekend. Wonderful place to .

A wonderful lake to stroll alongside, very relaxing and the swans are beautiful. I live in Lakeland and I visit at least once a month.

We love to go here and feed the ducks and swans alongside the lake. Great place to take the little ones to interact with birds. There is a library close by to visit as well.

It's easy to find just south of downtown Lakeland. This beautiful lake is a sanctuary to hundreds of birds including four different types of Swans. The original pair of white mute swans were a gift from Queen Elizabeth of England from her royal flock. Many generations later they grace the shores of the circular lake. Other swans include the Black Swans from Australia, the Black necked swans, and an several pairs came from parents that mated in white or black combinations.
Many other birds use the lake during different seasons from the migrating White Pelicans to Ducks over wintering, there is always a variety to see.
The lake also has trees planted around it's shores representing flowering trees around the world.
The lake is home to the annual Mayfair celebration a multi day event centered on Mothers day weekend, where invited artists set up their colorful displays on the shores, amongst the beautiful birds.
