Be sure to pick up a walking tour guide book at the Roux Library or Archives building next door. While visiting be sure to stroll around the gardens and enjoy the most beautiful college campus in the US. You might also want to enjoy a walk along Lake Hollingsworth. The entire lake walk is a little less than 3 miles long.

Florida Southern offers a weekend of activities to acquaint new students and their parents to the school. Moving into the college was a breeze with the move in crew! I carried nothing for my son to move into college - just parked the car. Faculty in full regalia processed along with all the incoming freshman for the opening ceremony of the college for the new class. We were treated like family. Had a great weekend.

My wife saw FSC on a list of 10 "must see things" so we detoured off our itinerary to check it out. Good call. Mr. Wright designed 18 buildings for the college, and 12 of the them got built. We went to the visitor center which has some of the history, is a FLW building, and used to be the college library. We found a very pleasant student who gave us a two hour guided walking tour for $33 per person. Worth it. It got us access to all of the buildings, and a great explanation of the architecture, history, building techniques, current renovation plans, etc.

We had seen Mr. Wright's home and workshop in the Chicago area plus several of his buildings, and also been to Fallingwater in southwest Pennsylvania, so this was another look into his extensive array of work. There is also a lovely HUGE fountain that is a FLW design that is awesome.

Florida Southern College has the world's largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright building in a single location. The campus is like a museum of iconic architectural structures. Visitors have the opportunity walk around the campus under the covered walkways and walk through some of the buildings. FSC has maintained this architectural collection with great pride and commitment. If anyone is truly appreciative of iconic architecture, the Frank Lloyd Wright collection at Florida Southern College is a must see.
