Had the salmon and did the wife and it was very good. The au gratin potato's were amazing, really like their bread. Overall a very good experiences however we still prefer Fish City Grille at Lakeside Village.

Went there with Grandma and had Bang Bang shrimp as a starter. It has been that delicious that I had to order a second one!
The rest of the food (Filet Mignon, Clam and Corn chowder and a grilled chicken salad) was delicious as well and cooked to perfection.
Waitress was super nice and very quick. We will definitely be back.

“Solid Seafood, Done Right!”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

Bonefish is...well, it's Bonefish. It's an Outback family restaurant, and therefore puts out consistently high quality food, which is always appreciated. They obviously specialize in fresh seafood, but also offer some great choices for non-seafood faring folks. They are famous for having invented Bang Bang shrimp, which seems to have been copied by everyone under the Sun. I've seen 'Dang Bang' shrimp, 'Bang Dang' shrimp and all kinds of variations on the name. Having said that, in my view, theirs is still the best iteration I've ever had. It's just awesome.

On this particular evening, they had wild caught Alaskan Salmon on the menu, as it's Salmon season in Alaska right now. There is nothing like wild caught Alaskan Salmon, at least in my view. It has a completely different texture and taste than say, Scottish or farm raised Salmon. Not that the last two are bad, it's just that they can't compare to Alaskan, wild caught Salmon. I had it prepared with the Thai BBQ preparation, and I must say, it was exquisite. The BBQ actually had sweet and smokey taste that was outstanding. The fish was perfectly prepared to my liking, and the service was good. All in all, a very nice dining experience. Highly recommended.

“Apples and Oranges”
Reviewed June 26, 2014

Most times, when reviewing any establishment (but in our case... specific to restaurants) one most times considers all (or most) offerings encountered (i.e., from fare, to bill of fare; from ambiance, to cleanliness; from resources... meaning bar and/or amenities, to attitude, and so-on; even management gets that measurement).

Of the may places we've traveled to, and even lived (especially where Bonefish was accessible), it has always been a point to seek out our palatable favorites. For my wife and I, Bonefish has always been a favorite (surprising, for a chain cutout). It's low-lighting ambiance, coupled with its excellently-prepared cuisine make for a delightful "escape" into a delectable world of seafood. Also, they usually have a fully capable bar/tender(s) with a decent selection of standard and even exotic offerings.

Now, a bit about the downside(s)...
Even though they do have/offer a specials menu, it is limited to one or sometimes two main entrees and a dessert... maybe a drink. Still, it would be nice to see their actual menu change its offerings from time to time -adding some surprising change (but maybe this should be expected when you frequent any particular place... but years?); however, as we have patronized Bonefish for many years, their menu so seldom goes through a change of venue of "new and exciting."

Next, is the reservations process. Up until recently, Bonefish did not have a very effective reservations system in-place. If you and your company wished to make reservations you were not "assured" of any exact time; rather, you were given the more trendy "call-ahead" option that simply meant that when you shuffled-in (about) the time you thought you might make it, that your presence then MIGHT advance you in the waiting line to enter. Now, however, as I am being advised, Bonefish has revamped their system to not only take real reservations via phone, but online as well; meaning, if you expect to have a table at 8pm, with reservation you might just get it! On the flip-side however, if you attempt to make any reservation within an hour of your expected arrival time, you will be subject to the "call ahead" system of waiting in-line with the hope of being herded-in sooner.

Finally, the only drawback of this particular Bonefish (Lakeland), was in the the attitude of some of both their receptionists as well as servers. While most do have a genuine presence of professional focus, some, convey that 9-to-5, "just a job" attitude, which definitely shows in their service; which, I will add, similarly shows in their received tip!

The bottom line here is that just because you may possibly end up with staff that could care less, and attend to you as more of a bother than customer, the food will more than compensate for the expense; well... most times (hence... "Apples to Oranges"). Bon Appétit!*

“Mismanaged dining room”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

I went with 2 older friends on a Monday night at 6:30. Walked in to see if there was a wait: was told there was a 15 minute wait despite a half-empty dining room. Was told the wait was due to a server shortage. Went out, got my friends, came back in (in less than 3 minutes) and was told the wait was now 25-30 minutes because "a lady just walked in ahead of you". Fuming... but elderly friends did not want to leave. A manager promised we would only wait 15 minutes. That turned into 30 minutes. They tried to make amends with a free appetizer (split 3 ways). The resulting tataki beef had gristle in it. Waitress was pleasant but managed to forget a couple of things and had to be reminded. It'll be a long time before I go back to that Bonefish Grill.
