Did the lion's share of my stargazing from this park over the years since it is only a 45 minute drive from home. The sky is dark, but there are light domes to the west (Lake Wales) and north (Orlando, Kissimmee, and a new hotel near the park entrance). The eastern and southern sky is dark. Daytime activities include boating and hiking, but the real attraction for stargazers will be the sky close to the comforts of civilization (Lake Wales). Unfortunately one of the best sea food restaurants (Mar-Lisa) in the area closed down a few years back, so a 20 minute drive is in order to grab some great grub.
