We visited Bok Tower on a whim while we were heading to Winter Haven to visit Legoland. I'm very glad we stopped! The gardens are absolutely gorgeous. The paths are well-shaded and cool. It was a really great place to let our 3 year-old son run around a little while my husband and I strolled.
Bok Tower itself is stunning work of art deco architecture with ceramic tile murals. Truly a monument to the 1920s belief that science and biology could be beautiful and spiritual. The bells in the tower sound frequently and provide wonderful music.
They also had a very nice cafe with, surprisingly, beer and wine for sale. I would love to stop here for a date -- nice long lunch with a bottle of wine, then strolling through the gardens! Very romantic and relaxing.
My husband is a huge Legoland fan, and we've agreed to make time for Bok Tower every time we visit the area!
