The cleanliness, efficiency, and friendliness of the staff made this Holiday Inn Express a winner for us this past weekend. The rooms are immaculate with soothing colors. Had a great night sleep with a great breakfast in the morning.
We were in town for our annual girl's weekend and things worked out perfectly. The rooms were so big and comfortable and made it easy to enjoy family time. Loved the elegant, traditional decor. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Ask for the fourth floor facing the lake.

A nice, reasonably priced place for an overnight stay. No restaurant or chance to buy any food or drinks, except for the gas station in front of the hotel, within walking distance. You will need to drive for about 5 minutes to find a supermarket and some restaurants/bars/pubs.
Clean and efficient as almost always Holiday Inn.
The time we have been there a very friendly lady supervised the rather diminutive breakfast bar with great charm!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a sea view on an upper level

After 90 miles peddling on a bike, this HIE was a site for sore eyes and other parts. It was clean with a good free breakfast in the morning. The location was great for restaurants and other things nearby. If you looking for a clean, safe place, the HIE is your place.

ABSOLUTELY!

We were in town visiting family who live in the Lake Placid area days before Christmas and decided to stay here.

As you walk into the hotel, you are greeted by the friendly front desk staff who are quick to serve you and get you on your way. You also notice the contemporary decor and how immaculate the place looks.

When booking your room, make sure to request a room on the east or lake side of the hotel. The views are wonderful and the homes on that side are just as nice to look at.

Our room was facing the lake and easily accommodated four persons. The room was spotless and I like the fact that the room included a fridge and microwave, along with an extra sink.

The hotel also has a business center and gym, which houses four different machines. There is also a pool, which we did not use as it was too cold outside.

The free Breakfast served here is wonderful! There were scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits, hot cinnamon rolls, a pancake maker, fruit, juices, cereals, coffee/tea, yogurts, oatmeal and breads. The woman who was in charge of the breakfast area did a stupendous job at keeping it refilled at all times. Not once did I see anything remain empty for more than a few minutes.

The hotel is located close to town and sits behind a gas station, so if you should get the munchies or crave a beer, it's all located within steps of your hotel.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND a stay at this hotel and will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Room Tip: Ask to stay on the east side of the building, so that you get views of the lake.

We took a long Thanksgiving weekend to do some hiking and biking it Highlands Hammock State Park.
We had stayed at this HIE twice before and had a pleasant stay both times. Third time was equally as nice and it is nice to know where everything is. I took a dip in the spa and heated pool to relax after a long hike.
The front desk recommended Coz's and it was great bar food...almost went bowling.
We missed Jaxson's this time but that is great food.

Room Tip: Face east, the lake , and you can see a nice sunrise from the upper floors.

Stayed here over Thanksgiving while visiting family. This hotel is VERY clean, and nicely decorated. Also very quiet at night with no one yelling or hearing people walking in the room above you. The staff is awesome. One staffer even looked up online the hours of Gatorama (go there also!) and downloaded a coupon for us. There is a weight room, outdoor pool, and a full hot breakfast bar. I didn't eat there, so sorry I can't offer taste/quality opinions. We were able to sit in the lobby every night and visit with no one objecting to us moving furniture or how late we were there. Stay here if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: All rooms seem well appointed.

This was my second visit to a Holiday Inn Express in summer 2012, the first being in Palatka. The two are very similar in design, with a few extra points to Palatka for an especially nice pool, visible from rooms on the back side. The one in Lake Placid has a perfectly good pool and is in excellent location, close to the actual town of Lake Placid (west of US 27) with its nice old downtown area and restaurants.

This hotel has a fine bathroom, iron, ironing board, comfortable beds, quiet air conditioning, and easily accessible electric power plugs near the beds. The refrigerator is roomy, microwave works, and the desk provides a good reading and work area. A business room downstairs provided free internet access on a pair of computers, and there's an exercise room.

The hotel is in excellent condition, apart from a few cart scrapes on hallway walls. Breakfast is routine, with milk, cereal, yogurt, a pancake-manufacturing machine, coffee, etc., served in a nice lobby-like setting.

Room Tip: Rooms on the rear (east) side have a nice lake view.
