This place sits back off the highway at an old fish camp on Lake Panasoffkee. The atmosphere is very casual and laid back. We had the grilled shrimp platter with a heap of piping hot fries, hush puppies and slaw...or select from additional sides. Portions are generous and prices are very reasonable. Plates came out fast and hot and the food was cooked to perfection. The personnel are super friendly and attentive. We were very pleased with the entire experience here and will certainly be coming back. What a nice alternative to cookie cutter chains.,,,.this place has real personality, run by people who care about the quality of what they serve and how they serve it. They say their grilled steaks are especially good. Specials are offered throughout the week. Come check this place out for a unique experience.

Right off of I75, right on the water -- Lake Panasoffkee. They have a simple menu with specials many evenings like halibut, shrimp, spaghetti, etc. I stopped by for lunch on Wednesday. I was the only there. The food I ordered was not on the menu. I had a lettuce wrap of tuna with cottage cheese and tomato on the side. They were more than willing to do this. If you like avoiding the I75 highway chains, and you want to experience local Florida fare, this is your place.

We had gone to this fish camp restaurant last year and knew that it was changing hands, so stopped by on our way to the steel guitar jam at Catfish Johnny's in Lake Panasoffkee .....the place is very much cleaner and cuter than last year, but sadly, they did not have any fish that night, so we didn't eat dinner there. They did have Yuengling on draft for $1.75, so we had a couple and a bowl of bean soup - delicious. We;ll try it again when they are more organized. Seems like it has potential....stay tuned! It is in a small building which is on the shores of Lake Pansoffkee and next to the fishing pier. Lots of birds (egrets, ibis, hanging around). Nice decorations and worth a return visit. This is Old Florida, for sure!
