We have stayed here when it was a Holiday Inn, and it was great, about 15 yrs. ago, so I thought we would try it again!! OMG!!!! It's all I could do is to spend the entire night here!!! Yuck, how disgusting!!! The pool and whirpool, is all this hotel has going for it!! The rooms were old and very smelly and disgusting!! There was a huge gap underneath the door, so bugs and whatever else couldget in!! This totally turned my family around searching for hotels anywhere. I always look at all of the reviews now. We travel several times a yr. I should have really asked for my money back, it was that bad!!!

This hotel was formerly owned by Holiday Inn (A long time ago). There is a lovely new Holiday Inn across the road. Seralago Hotel is 10 minutes walk east of 'Old Town' Best identified by the fairground which is all lit up at night.

This Hotel has 2 small pools (unsupervised, 8am to midnight) a spa (for 6, but available 8am to midnight) and a Gym (a box room with a treadmill a exercise bike and a step machine).

The shutte bus goes to only Disney's Magic Kingdom Transportatin Center, From Which you can catach buses to the other Disney parks or the standard buses (Lynx Bus) no's 56 and 111. The Seralago Shuttle Bus - Departs at 8am, 10.55am and 12.30pm.
The Shuttle Bus return from Magic Kingdom Transportation Center is 5pm, 9.15pm and 11.15pm. You will find lots of people sitting in the middle a Large Bus Park at space no 75 at about 11.20pm (the busses tend to be late) because the buses for several Hotels all go there. Make sure you get on the right bus they all look the same.

The shuttle bus is very limiting. However, jump on a 56 bus at magic kingdom to get to the hotel for $2 or ask the bus driver for a one day bus pass for $4.50. A 111 bus goes from Orlando International Airport to Magic Kingdom via Florida Mall (where you can change for other useful buses no 4 and no 37) or just go shopping. If you want to go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure you need to get the Shuttle from the Hotel $12-$15 per person return (20 min trip). Do not consider going by bus, I tried it. 3 buses are required and 2 hours.

Heading west at Old Town past the Harley Davison Shop is a Walgreens chemist. NOTE: No one has heard of paracetemol in the US. They call it 'acetaminophen'.

If you turn right before Walgreens there is a supermarket called 'public' hiding round the back.

The nearest Wallmart is 5 miles east. You can catch a 56 bus outside the hotel on the hotel side to go there. You can get a lot of disney clothing and accesories there at sensible prices as well as food and cameras, memory cards and everything else.

Get a Poncho a good one, they take up little space but well worth having. Apparently we had more rain than usual this year several tropical storms of 4+ hours rather than the usual 15min rain spell.

There is a KFC, Pizza Hut within walking distance, as well as a small 'flea market' an Italian restuarant and a Steakhouse.

The Hotel lobby and receptiion area is all very nice - The hotel has over 500 rooms (chalets really). UK people might be able to relate to 1970's style chalets from the outside - a bit run down. Inside your chalet, do not be surprised to find your microwave and small fridge in your wash room area! Also you may find that the bathroom is flaking away, carpets are stained.

Deposit boxes are available at reception. There is no safe in the room. The beds are comfortable. The analogue TV had 19 channels (mostly spanish) when I started the holiday, but about 70 after and upgrade to all roooms during our stay (more english speaking channels).

Breakfast - $6.95 per person would give you access to the buffet breakfast. Fried everythinga few pastries, american pankakes and some fruit, with Tea/Coffee

Staf were helpful and friendly generally.

Taxis, if doing short trips get a metered taxi, but even so arrange a price beforehand.

Getting from the Orlando International Airport
Taxi about $50 - $40 via negotiation
'Mears' shuttle bus $33 return per person
Bus: For a one way trip you can ask for a transfer when you get on the bus an pay $2. That gives you a ticket to continue your onward journey on another bus for no additional cost. Bus Area A get a 111 to Magic Kingdon and a 56 from Magic Kingdom to Seralago Hotel (Old Town) it stops right outside. £2 per person if you ask for a transfer. $4 per person if you forget to ask for a 'transfer'. $4.50 per person if you ask the bus driver for a bus pass (one day). A weekly bus pass is available for $16 but are only available from Yellow and Blue ticket centers or the Lynx Transportation Center in the North.

Apart from the places mentioned you cannot walk anywhere. You need to use transportatin, a Bus, Car or Taxi.

We met some other brits ladies with kids who stayed at Seralago and the said the cried when they saw the room. And it's not the first time we've heard that at the complex. It you want the disappointment of a 1970's style chalet with the wear and tear of an unrenevated room. This rooms at the Seralago Hotel and Suites are fine, if you want a bit more try the Holiday Inn across the road.

There flimsy looking locking systems are standard at most hotels (even the expesive ones) in the area.

Water in Florida (Hotel, Disney, Universal, Other Hotels) all tastes the same and it smells bad to us Europeans, but is drinkable.

Have Fun!
Must see at Disney, .
Magic Kingdom Electric Parade and Fireworks / Minnie and Mickeys House / Pirates of the Carribean
Animal Kingdom - As much as you can.
Hollywood Studio - Fantasmic Show, Twilight Zone Terror
Epcot - Spaceship Earth / Soarin
Blizzard Beach - The view at the top of Summit Plummit / Tobagon
Typhhoon Lagoon - 8ft Wave Machine
Downtown Disney and the Broadwalk are also worth a visit for Adults for meals and entertainment in the evening.

Must See at Universal
Universal Studios - Krusty Clown (Simpsons) / Harry Potter, Hulk

Best ride - Harrry Potter

There's nothing special about the suites here. They're average for Route 192 lodging near Disney. The rooms are on the run-down side, and our suite's door opening to the outside wasn't very secure (the security lock was loose, and the door was difficult to open and close.)

On the other hand, it wasn't very expensive, and we didn't have any serious problems while staying there. The location for the price is the real selling point.

Seralago has wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable personnel. The 2 HUGE swimming pools are always clean as are the beautiful grounds that surround them. The buffet breakfast in their restaurant is wonderful and the staff in the restaurant is efficient and VERY friendly...and there're many food options as well as ordering from their menu. The grounds are always very clean and beautiful. The location is great with their shuttle to Disney as well as other attractions...and right next to 'Old Town' amusement/shops/games park. There are tons of good restaurants within walking distance. It's an amazing location...and it's a 'Disney Good Neighbor Hotel' which means it has special arrangements with Disney...such as acquiriing tickets, etc. there...also arrangements can be made for other parks, shows, etc. there....It's a WONDERFUL HOTEL and the prices are amazingly reasonable....with lots of specials for all groups of people all year....Seniors...Returning Military...Birthday and Reunion Groups...Florida Residents...AARP...AAA, etc., etc.
We HIGHLY recommend this hotel.
