Our Wisconsin softball team stayed at Coral Cay in March 2009. Initial impressions were ok. It was in a fairly seedy area, and when we arrived to check in, the office was manned by a young lady who was more interested in talking to her friends on her cell phone than taking care of us. Her children were also running around the office yelling and carrying on, but she didn't seem to care. We checked in, and questioned why we were being required to let her make a photocopy of our credit card, even though our entire stay was already paid for before we arrived, but she insisted and we let her make the copy. BIG mistake!

Have to say that our townhouse was actually quite nice, although it was not cleaned well at all. Kitchen and bathrooms had visible dirt on floors and walls. After 3 days there, we were thinking that we were already out of towels, and when I went to wash them, we discovered that the dryer was stuffed full with wet towels! On my vacation, I was forced to re-wash and dry 3 loads of someone elses dirty towels!! Our hot tub area was ok, though it was not very clean, and the prior guests cigarette butts were left all over the floor.

The pool area and clubhouse seemed to be nice, but the clubhouse was closed and locked for almost the entire week. The pool was freezing cold, as was the outdoor hot tub - definitely NOT HOT at all. Complaints to the office were ignored.

It gets even better!!! On the 4th day of our stay, we came back to the townhouse after 8 hours in the heat of the ballpark, wanting to fix some dinner and have our girls come over. When we arrived at the resort, there were utility trucks around, which we thought was strange, and upon arrival at our townhouse, we discovered why they were there. ALL of the utilities had been disconnected because the management company had not paid the bills. We had NO water, NO electricity, and NO air-conditioning. Repeated visits to the front office, we were blown off by the people working there and finally after about 7 hours, our utilities were turned back on. Oh, did I forget to mention that we were promised, and paid for, Wireless Internet service, which NEVER existed. It was a lie from the beginning.

And, just when you think it can't get any better ... the day we left the Coral Cay Resort, nobody was in the office, so we left our keys and started on the drive back home to Wisconsin. The following day, we were contacted by the Fraud Department of our local Credit Union. Our Visa card was being used to make fraudulent purchases in Florida, Georgia, and Texas!!!!! Can you believe this??? After $1700 in fraudulent charges, our credit union put a stop on our card. We can't prove that someone at the Coral Cay resort did this, but it's kind of interesting after everything else, that 2 hours after we left, someone was using our credit card numbers to make fraudulent purchases. Phone calls and emails to our contact person at Homes4U.com, who we originally booked the townhouse through, went unanswered.

Oh, I just remembered. There was a murder behind our daughter's townhouse one of the nights we were there. They were awakened by their coach in the middle of the night to make sure everyone was ok. So, live and learn. DO NOT STAY AT THE CORAL CAY RESORT!!!!! RUN, DON'T WALK somewhere else.

A group of us 6 uni friends stayed at Caravelle Cove and it cost us roughly £16 a night EACH! We had an absolute blast, the house had so much to offer, not to mention the jacuzzi! We didn't eat out much, the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals. I recommend going to caravellecove.com so you can see a virtual video tour of the house. The house is exactly like it is in the pictures. The first thing I noticed about the house was that it was impeccably clean and it was beautifully furnished. Very comfortable, especially as we had a TV in each of the bedrooms and most importantly we had free wireless internet, so planning for the next day's adventure was easy! All the bills were included in the price - An extra bonus! The management company I spoke to on the phone were extremely helpful, I think they're Scottish and the owner actually phoned to the house to welcome us and make sure everything was ok for us. I thought that was nice. I think you would need to visit the caravelle cove website just to get a true idea of what's available. The last time I did the theme parks, I was travelling with family and we stayed in a hotel. The thing that stands out in my mind is the memory of doors slamming, shouting and noise in the middle of the night. This holiday house is an absolute dream compared to that last holiday!!! As I said, visit the website :-)

We arrived after a long drive from Atlanta and were delighted to see that the place was immaculately turned out.

The reception staff were very professional and gave us tips as to where to find everything.

The children disappeared off to the pool area, which is also well maintained.

The resort is 15 minutes from the top Disney locations and the top watersport attractions in the area.

There are some good restaurants around as well as a local shopping Mall. There is a Wallmart within walking distnace so you can stock up on essentials.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would recmend the resort unrerservedly.

We've just come back from Coral Cay (07/09) and although we'd heard that had been some problems with the old management company these all seemed to have been rectified and our stay was as pleasant as we expected it to be. The resort is quite quiet but that suited us perfectly meaning we had the pool to ourselves a lot of the time and it was safe from cars for the children. After a long day at the parks we were quite glad or a bit of peace and quiet.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful and there were a large number of places to eat close by and a WallMart at the end of the road which was really handy.

The main road is 30 seconds drive away and so it was quiet at the resort and we didn't have the constant drone of traffic which we had before. We also preferred not being high up in a hotel and being able to park outside (useful when you have children!) having stayed in some 'high rise' hotels in the past.

A lovely location and everything we expected, enjoy....

Found www.caravellecove.com which had a virtual tour of the property. Exactly as the film showed, Management there to greet us. Everyone very helpful. Lovely resort and would certainly visit again. Four bedrooms which worked out at $25 each per night. Equivalent of £16 each. Will definitely go there again - well worth every penny! The owner rang us to see that we had everything. Friendly place. Five stars for little expense. Perfect accommodation. Cleanliness, comfort and facilities were second to none. Resort is under new management and older posts here are out of date.
