“Relaxing vacation”
Reviewed April 11, 2012

Like many visitors, after reading the comments that the place is dated, i was thinking it would be worn and in need of refurbishing. From the condition of the unit we were in, i think it's the style that makes the place look dated - peach and sea foam green painted walls (appeared freshly painted too), rattan furniture, tropical print cushions and curtains, dining table with glass table top. Everything was clean and for the most part in good working order (issue with light in master bedroom). The grounds and the pools are clean too. There are many activities on the grounds to enjoy like basketball, tennis, volley ball, putting green, shuffle board. There's also a game room. We had an end unit in the Saturn building on the 3rd floor. There are no elevators. This wasn't an issue for us but could be for some folks. However, what was an issue is the vaulted ceilings in the master bedroom with the 6 windows on the high part of the wall. There are no blinds or curtains. It wasn't a problem for me, but for my husband, it was an issue. He was up at sunrise every morning. If you are headed to the Disney's Animal Kingdom - do not make right onto Route 192. Instead, at the light, go straight and that road takes you there without the 192 traffic mess. Of course, check out mapquest before you do just in case I don't recall a turn or two. Enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: If you need a dark room to sleep, do not get 3rd floor unit.

I spent a week long late summer vacation at Orbit One and I felt as though I had found a hidden gem. The resort doesn't sit directly on the main street, so it may not attract the most street traffic, but it definitely makes for a quiet stay without any street noise!

That being said, I stayed at a time when landscaping and construction werebeing done around the parking areas, and unfortunately, much of the work was being done at night! This meant that two of the five nights spent at Orbit One were very noisy which didn't allow for very much sleep. When this was brought to the attention of guest services, it wasn't met with very much empathy or understanding, which left a bit of a damper on my stay.

However, for one of the more popular places to stay in the area, the value was fantastic and we were very close to several restaurants, shops, and all the major theme parks.

The beds were all very comfortable and I loved the fact that our villa had so many windows to let in tons of natural sunlight. It made for a very bright, comfortable atmosphere.

We spent six nights at Orbit One Villas in February 2012. I booked it based upon other reviews, but still had doubts as it is an older resort. When we got there, my husband walked in the front door, came back out and said, "you are going to be very happy." He was very right. Orbit may be an older resort, but it is completely up to date. Our two bedroom villa had lots of room and was very clean. There was a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom, a patio, even a little sunroom. The best feature for me was the washer/dryer combo. The pool has small waterslides. There are tennis courts, indoor handball court and a game room. Breakfast is light; coffee, juice and danish. They will try to get you to attend a sales presentation, but you don't have to. I realize I am gushing a bit. I have been to Kissimmee many times, and this may have been my best hotel experience.

Back in 2007, I happened upon orbit one when searching for a condo offsite from the parks. We just got back from our third stay there and this time I didn't even look for a better deal. They have done some great renovations since our last stay, refurbished master baths, new exterior paint and updated very comfy bedding. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Do your grocery shopping at the new shopping center less than five minutes away then it's only 10 minutes to the parks. Two tips: ask for a top story unit if you are able to climb stairs, it's worth it not to have noise above your head and those units have cute skylights. Also, ask for a unit that does not back up to main drag, they can be noisy in the morning as there are businesses on the other side of the fence. Staff is great. Heated pool was great in february, bring your suits!

Room Tip: Ask for unit away from main drag. Top floor units are quiter and have skylights, but be ready to cl...

This place has lots of space, kitchen facilities and bathrooms. You can save money by doing some cooking or eating breakfast at the hotel. It is close to Disney and the attractions in Orlando. Very spacious and can easily be shared by two small families to save money. If you travel during the "low" season you can get a great deal on this place on Expedia. It is less than the price of a small hotel room in Toronto! You have laundry facilities in each condo so take some laundry soap as well as extra soap for the dishwater as they only supply a small amount.

Room Tip: There are no elevators and three levels in each unit. If you have mobility issues you should ask fo...

This was my husband and my first vacaion in 6 years and we are so glad we chose Orbit One. We stayed for a week. The rooms were very large, the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. We would have loved to bring another family with us. Everything was clean and maintained very well. There were 2 pools, one for the kids and one for the adults which were nicely heated (since the weather wasn't great). There were always clean towels at the pool and the staff was always a great help. The only dissapointment was that the WIFI wasn't free (but Starbucks was only 5 minutes away). We will definitely stay here again. Great place for the money!!!!
